What do you think of the name Elvie? (girls name)

L'Oreal. Sorry.

RedDwarves · 29/06/2018 01:42

I know a couple of Elvies and Elvas, but they are reasonably well used in Scandi countries.

Elvie where I live would be constantly confused for Evie.

Elvira is not beautiful... I have a diamond python named that. It's only appropriate for snakes. Grin

bionicnemonic · 28/06/2018 22:16

...it’s the name of a pelvic floor exercise device...

Elvira is beautiful. Think Michelle Pffeifer in Scarface!

Wolfiefan · 28/06/2018 22:09

Yep. Sounds like an Elvis or Evie gone wrong.

Thundersky · 28/06/2018 22:07

Too much like Elver to me. Which is a baby eel

bellinisurge · 28/06/2018 15:23

I knew a wonderful beautiful Elvie. Short for Elvira.

Verbena87 · 28/06/2018 15:21

I like it BUT it’s the name of a pelvic toner biofeedback device (worn in your vagina to measure how strong your kegels are), so I wouldn’t!!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/06/2018 15:19

Oh like it. Who cares if it's made up. Every name was made up at some point

MikeUniformMike · 28/06/2018 15:14

Elvira?

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/06/2018 14:36

It's cute as a nn but not as a full name as its too cutsie

Not sure what it could be a shortening of. .. Elvina maybe?

MikeUniformMike · 28/06/2018 14:32

Too close to Evie to not be a PITA.
Elfie is better but would be a pain at Christmas.

Peachbubble · 28/06/2018 14:28

It looks like you've misspelt Evie or Elvis to me

lenalove · 28/06/2018 14:23

I'm afraid I'm not too keen...something about it doesn't sound quite right, sorry!
