A boys name I really liked for either of my DCs was Alec. I’m not sure if I was brave enough to force it through though.

I always liked Iris, Othernews. It was the name of my friend's mum. I was born in the wrong generation.

Also, Nora. My great grandmother's name.

I don't understand why Lydia isn't more popular. Classic, underused name.

I love the name Susan nowadays. When I was naming my own children, not so much.

The thing is it's a fine line between names you love and popularity. When we named DD, her name was quite rare. To this day, we don't know anyone older than her who has the same name. And then, BOOM! A celebrity nicked it and now it's everywhere!

moira123io · 27/06/2018 02:57

Daughter #3's name is Kathleen. Wish I had kept it for #4's first name.

Also like Michelle, Chelsea and Clara for a girl. Harvey and Morgan for a boy.

moredoll · 27/06/2018 02:43

Frances nn Frankie for a girl. DP vetoed it.

Johnnycomelately1 · 27/06/2018 02:07

Sharon - I love the way it sounds and all the Sharon’s I know are awesome

Baptiste- you gotta be French though or it sounds wanky

Stella

Love Malory.

Also love Quentin.

John

Had I had a second child and he were a son I would have chosen John - no question , A fantastic name.

I do like Frances , but then DS has Francis as a middle name - so I sort of would , wouldn't I Smile
