I really like the Dutch name Yfke.

LadyGAgain · 27/06/2018 06:47

I think it's really pretty and I hadn't heard of it before. Doesn't make me think of the other associations PP's have put and is IMO a lot prettier than Fenella.

ProseccoPoppy · 27/06/2018 06:13

I prefer Fenella personally, I think it’s prettier. Also, probably because I am used to hearing Fenella, Fenna somehow sounds/looks like it is missing some letters.

MeyYael · 27/06/2018 06:06

Senna, any more than Sienna or Jenna make me think of Senna...

I agree. It's actually really nice imo :)

Battleax · 27/06/2018 00:27

Fenella is much better.

DramaAlpaca · 27/06/2018 00:26

I think it's nice.

IVflytrap · 27/06/2018 00:23

Makes me think of the Fens. It doesn't make me think of Senna, any more than Sienna or Jenna make me think of Senna...

*Finna

MVLipwig · 26/06/2018 21:21

Oops *Finna

MVLipwig · 26/06/2018 21:20

I like it, also like the Scandinavian Finns

Susannach · 26/06/2018 21:13

Maria Yes, that’s what I think of too.

Like a fen (Fenn in German, so the association is pretty strong for me personally)?

It's a really beautiful (and slightly romantic) association imo... I really like this name :) Fenella is also nice.

MemoriesOfAnotherFuture · 26/06/2018 21:07

There’s an Icelandic name Finna

LoveInTokyo · 26/06/2018 21:07

I was going to say it sounds a bit herbal/medicinal.

rainingcatsanddog · 26/06/2018 21:03

I think in the U.K., people will assume that it's a name where you can't tell if it's a first name or surname like McKenzie and assume it's spelled Fenner.

Susannach · 26/06/2018 21:02

Blush None of these associations had occurred to me! Good thing I asked on here. Never heard of Senna personally but it seems lots have!

I quite like it too. I know a fenny, which imo sounds much ruder. Fenna reminds me of 'forna'

YouStacey · 26/06/2018 20:57

Makes me think of Fenesten

sexnotgender · 26/06/2018 20:56

Really not a fan.

bebehen · 26/06/2018 20:55

I quite like it! It's simple and unusual :) It doesn't make me think of anything else...
If you love it, go for it :)

AuntieStella · 26/06/2018 20:40

How about Fenella?

Fenna could be a nn

MushroomMushroom · 26/06/2018 20:36

It's my dogs name :) 🐶

hotchips · 26/06/2018 19:23

I don't love it. A similar sounding name I think is prettier is Fina.

ZolaShepherd · 26/06/2018 19:21

Another for Senna.

When I clicked on the thread on active, I didn’t know it was going to take me to the baby names board.

3legs · 26/06/2018 19:19

Too close to senna (laxatives) or tena (lady) for me personally.
