3 weeks til our baby is due and we are stuck for a name! DDs 1 & 2 are Jemima and Abigail (Jimmie and Abby).

What do you think of:

Patrick David (Paddy? Ricky?)
Robert David (Bobbie/Bertie)
Jasper David
Joseph David

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think Robert.

Quite a few little Patricks around here (maybe due to lots of Irish heritage), Jasper is awesome but also v trendy and more likely to date and while Joseph is lovely I don't like Joe.
Don't know a single little Robert, but lots of lovely older ones, and usually grandad age or near so the name is due to sound fresh again!

Littlelambpeep · 25/06/2018 14:39

Think Jasper goes well with your other names.

MrsMcW · 25/06/2018 14:37

My DS is Robert, goes by Robbie though not Bob / Bobby. I like Patrick and Jasper too. Not a fan of Joseph.

starkid · 25/06/2018 11:58

I like Jasper and Joseph best :)

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 25/06/2018 10:17

Patrick is lovely but Ricky/Rick are terrible
Love the others too.

MikeUniformMike · 25/06/2018 10:08

Patrick David (Paddy? Ricky?) not Ricky
Robert David (Bobbie/Bertie) Robbie. Bobby is just about OK but not Bobbie. Bertie is a no
Jasper David - goes together well
Joseph David - Joe or Joss.

RedDwarves · 25/06/2018 09:44

I love Patrick. Ricky as a nickname is contrived and ugly though. He'll almost certainly be Pat or Paddy, if shortened at all.

Like Robert too.

All are nice, but Jasper and Joseph are very popular at the moment, whereas the other two are more unexpected.

Icklepup · 25/06/2018 09:13

Patrick

LoveInTokyo · 25/06/2018 09:10

Not keen on Jasper but the others are all lovely.

Maybe Robert or Patrick since you already have a child with a J name.

MrsBertBibby · 25/06/2018 07:38

Robert. Robbie and Rob, rather than Bobby and Bob though.

Joseph is also a splendid name. The Joseph I know is sometimes Giuseppe or Yosef, but never Joe. No matter how hard his teachers try.

Paranoixia · 25/06/2018 07:34

I also think Jasper is a dog's name, so on that basis, Robert/Joseph

Paranoixia · 25/06/2018 07:33

Don't like Patrick, and I think the nicknames Paddy and Ricky are awful.

So dated and ugly.

strawberrypenguin · 25/06/2018 07:17

Robert or Jasper would be my choices

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/06/2018 07:04

Patrick

cricketmum84 · 25/06/2018 07:03

I have a Joseph, now 13 and very much a Joe rather than a Joseph. He also has one of the other names you mention as a middle name!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 25/06/2018 06:59

Love Joseph but mainly because I love Joe.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 25/06/2018 06:56

Joseph or Robert.
Patrick (Patch).
Jasper, another name for a wasp.

Peachbubble · 25/06/2018 06:29

Jasper or Joseph

MouseBatMummy · 24/06/2018 22:09

I love Patrick and would use that myself if I had a boy.
I also really like Robert and Bertie as a nickname

AnyaMoondial · 24/06/2018 22:08

Robert. A good solid handsome name.

autumnkate · 24/06/2018 22:01

Love Patrick and Joseph

C0untDucku1a · 24/06/2018 22:00

Jasper

AdaColeman · 24/06/2018 21:56

I like Jasper best, unusual, classy but not OTT.

Patrick is a close second.

Falaffels · 24/06/2018 21:48

I love Patrick. Underused IMO, and lots of fab nicknames

dementedma · 24/06/2018 21:46

Joseph Patrick.

our Joseph is now 16 is very much Joseph, not Joe. All his friends call him Joseph because that's his name. If people say "joe" he just says "my name's Joseph"
I also know a teenage Patrick who is Patrick and not Paddy or Pat.
