Still completely unsure as to baby names for two girls. I love the idea of same-initial twin names, so was thinking Alice and Althea, but Althea still doesn't seem right. Other contenders were Alice and Ada, but Violet was also a contender. Let me know what you think! The surname would be Valentine, and it would be Alice May and Althea Rose. Help!

Just realised why I hate Althea.

It sounds like "Healthier" in a northern accent.

Although Althea would probably become Thea she could become Al and then you have an Al and Al situation. I don’t mind the matching initials as such but I would avoid the initial syllable being the same iyswim

Also, if your surname starts with a V then I would definitely not use Violet.

Plus "Violet Valentine" sounds like a porn star/escort name.

I also would give twins separate initials, to help them develop separate identities.

If you have to use the same initial, then I definitely wouldn't have the same first sound. What if they both end up wanting to use the nickname "Ally"?

How do you pronounce Althea?

Is it Al-thee-a or Al-Tay-a?

I know one pronounced Altaya which I love (she isn't English though).

Al-thee-a just doesn't sound like a finished name to me, more a random assortment of sounds.
