Anna- i like Anna, it's simple, understated, and works for a child and into adulthood. Pretty timeless name too.
Gloria - not for me, a bit dated, and I associate with Finding Nemo
Elena- great as a middle name.
Aita- lovely name but some people may struggle to pronounce it.
Saveria- not a fan.
Matilda- LOVE it! Strong name, but sweet too. Awesome nickname potential too with Matti,Tilda,Maddie.
Severina- nice name, not too many people in UK will have heard of it, but think it works well.

Louis- love this name and almost chose it...until the royals used it and now I'm put off.
Sebastian- loved this name too, but for me it's becoming too popular.
Alexander- love it. This is one of my contenders. It's a strong, classic name which would grow well with a child to an adult.
Matteo- nice alternative to Matthew, a bit too cutesy for me.
Lorenzo- don't like it, and can't put my finger on why.
Severin- a bit harsh sounding, but a nice nod to your family. Sev would be a cool nickname too.

MariaMadita · 19/06/2018 21:30

*a murderer.

Not murdered.

Would you think it was strange? Unsavoury?

OP posts:
MariaMadita · 19/06/2018 21:29

You thanks for the link :)

But Severin and Severina are both fab too

I think so as well :) but I'm a little bit hesitant because of the 'severin' thing people mentioned... I hope it doesn't sound violent / like we're trying to raise a murdered? :(

Lucy I don't like zee but Xander is cute.

1st thanks 😊

Anna is beautiful and classic. Love Louis. But Severin and Severina are both fab too

g.co/kgs/rXeRs2

It's by the Mission.

1sttimeDD · 18/06/2018 20:46

Elena and Matteo 😍 Beautiful!

LucyJ61 · 18/06/2018 20:43

Love Alexander - i know a 10 year old who gets called Xander or Zee. Severin is a cool middle name.

Love Gloria and Elena. I like Severina as a middle name.

MariaMadita · 18/06/2018 19:58

Unusual but easy to spell and pronounce

I like that as well.

Alessandro/Alessandra

I feel like I should like it... But I've never met a nice Alessandra. And Alessandro doesn't sound that nice with an English accent (imo)

Thanks :)

TheVanguardSix · 18/06/2018 19:50

What about Alessandro/Alessandra?

TheVanguardSix · 18/06/2018 19:48

I have an Alec, OP.
Being called Alex has been an issue but it doesn't bother me. They stem from the same name and most of the time, everyone calls him Alec.
Alec is the Scottish diminutive of Alexander.
So if you're very Italian or Spanish (which I am guessing), you may want Alex instead.

I LOVE the name Matteo. It is one of my all time favourites.
Matilda is the best of your girls' names, imo.
Severina is lovely too, especially since it honours someone you love.

Octopeppa · 18/06/2018 19:44

I like Anna, Gloria, Elena, Alexander and Lorenzo.

SnowGoArea · 18/06/2018 18:46

There's a Matteo at my DCs school - great name.

Of your girls names, I like Gloria the most. Unusual but easy to spell and pronounce, attractive without sounding frilly.

MariaMadita · 18/06/2018 18:39

Anna - boring I do feel like it's the 'plainest' one (not necessarily in a bad way)

Aita - don't know how to pronounce it, don't like sound of Ate-a or Eye-ta though

I-tuh / eye - tuh, yes. It's a form of Agata. :)

Thanks.

It depends how Italian you are, ie, is the name going to need to be used in both languages?

Yes. Italian, German and English.

One of my father's middle names was Severino. I rather like it.

So do I. :) But I feel like Severin is a bit more versatile.

I'm unfortunately not a fan of Luisa...

Thanks!

One of my father's middle names was Severino. I rather like it. Gloriana is a bit Elizabeth 1st. What about Analissa? Ornella for a girl? Allessandro. It depends how Italian you are, ie, is the name going to need to be used in both languages? I had a zia Luisa which works for both languages.

Jasmina456 · 18/06/2018 18:21

What's your opinion of Matteo Vs Mattia?

Love Matteo, don't like Mattia though. I think it's the lovely 'Ay-Oh' sound in Matteo that makes it so nice. 'Ee-Uh' just isn't as nice.

Jasmina456 · 18/06/2018 18:20

What do you think of these? Thanks smile

Anna - boring
Gloria - like it, I know a little French Gloria whose nickname is Gloglo, which I think is adorable!
Elena - like it, though in the U.K. she'll constantly have to tell people it isn't spelt Eleanor
Aita - don't know how to pronounce it, don't like sound of Ate-a or Eye-ta though
Saveria - like it
Matilda - LOVE IT!
Severina - I don't like the 'sever' sound, it's not a nice word

Louis - really like it, suspect there might be a few though due to the royal baby!
Sebastian - like it
Alexander - love it
Matteo - like it
Lorenzo - don't like it
Severin - don't like 'Sever'

MariaMadita · 18/06/2018 18:14

À great song?

I think they're both beautiful! So do I. I actually really like all the names on the girl's list...

Sophronia

Thanks :)!

starkid seeing as you're one of the people that like Matteo.

What's your opinion of Matteo Vs Mattia?

OP posts:
YoucancallmeVal · 18/06/2018 17:28

Severina is a great name and a great song.

Cosmoa · 18/06/2018 17:13

My mistake! I confused myself...

Anyway I think they're both beautiful! Severina and Saveria and Severin are my favourites from your list Smile

starkid · 18/06/2018 16:58

Hi, from your lists I like:

Anna
Gloria
Matilda

Louis
Sebastian
Alexander
Matteo

Sophronia · 18/06/2018 15:22

I like Anna, Gloria and Lorenzo best.

MariaMadita · 18/06/2018 15:16

Lost my comment...;( Severina and Severin would both honour my mother. (It's one of her middle names)

Saveria is a name we found in one of my great grandmother's letters :)

OP posts:
Cosmoa · 18/06/2018 15:04

I like Savaria and Severin! Then again, my taste isn't usually the same as the traditional Mums net choices. Or Sevarina as it says at the top.. Not sure which is correct but it's lovely Smile

MariaMadita · 18/06/2018 14:47

Seems like Anna, Gloria, Elena, Alexander and Matteo are the most popular.

I'm assuming that Savaria, Aita and Severin aren't 'crowd pleasers'?
