As a full name or nickname? Is it going to get very popular?

None, only in history!

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/06/2018 21:03

1, my niece. She is called Nellie but shortened to Nell a lot. She's coming up 4 months old.

user1486076969 · 14/06/2018 21:02

None

littlebigtown · 14/06/2018 21:02

Just my own .

She is 6 and her full name is Nell , not short for anything . Often known as Nelly . I think it's a beautiful name

audweb · 14/06/2018 20:57

It’s not her full name, that’s nellicy but we generally call her Nell.

audweb · 14/06/2018 20:56

I have one. Best name ever. And she’s the only one I have met

CourtneyLovely · 14/06/2018 20:54

I know one 7yo and Nell is her full name.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 14/06/2018 20:53

One 13yo, full name Cornelia.

Janus · 14/06/2018 20:53

None but it was my favourite name (just Nell) for my last child - we had a boy!! I still think it’s a beautiful name.

Susannach · 14/06/2018 20:50

Wow, lots of responses and not too many Nells! Great Smile

So no one thinks it’s goinv to get hugely popular? I’ve been hearing it a fair bit out and about lately but I do love it.

April your Nell is a beauty!

I know a Nell (full name) and she's 6.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 14/06/2018 20:43

Nell- Full name Quenelle

That’s the only one I can think of

pickleface · 14/06/2018 20:41

And she's simply Nell. Perfect on it's own.

pickleface · 14/06/2018 20:39

Only one, mine :-)

zeebeedee · 14/06/2018 20:34

One, in her late 30's, short for Eleanor - but it suits her so much better than Eleanor would!

deptfordgirl · 14/06/2018 20:31

One as a full name.

I like it and like it as a nn for Eleanor.

curious541 · 14/06/2018 20:27

One - via Mumsnet on a newbie thread from earlier

One, she’s my elderly patient Grin

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 14/06/2018 20:05

I don't have my glasses on and thought it said Neil. I thought there was going to be a resurgence of little Neils running about

ApolloandDaphne · 14/06/2018 20:02

There were loads of Nell's in our family. All Helen's. All now dearly departed. Know no young Nell's but I love it as a name.

millymae · 14/06/2018 19:51

3 all under 7.
To me it’s the perfect name because it can’t be abbreviated.

Glumglowworm · 14/06/2018 19:33

One, aged 10 or 11, Nel is her full name

lifechangesforever · 14/06/2018 18:48

2 - one is the wife of a colleague (full name Helen) and one is the daughter of another colleague, Nell is her full name.
