Help us pick from out top three!

We've managed to narrow it down to these three but baby's due in a week and we still can't decide for the life of us.

  • Sunshine
  • Symphony
  • Seawillow

I know they're not MN Approved names but hoping some people on here will have similar taste.

We already have a Honeybee and a Starling.

These names are awful enough for a girl but would be even worse for a boy. FFS, OP.

This has got to be a joke. No sane person would actually name their child any of these names, and even more so nobody in their right mind would be so cruel as to name a little boy Sunshine, Seawillow or Symphony.

You’re naming children, not pets.

I don’t think you’re responsible enough to be a parent if you can’t even take naming them seriously.

I read Seawillow as Swallow, which fits with Starling.

I just hope your surname isn’t Lovelace Wink

Unusual names are very "outing". Your children will always be known in a group after day one, because they will be remembered by name. Or called "the one with a funny name".

If confident they will ride it out, enjoy it. If not they will run up to the person registering and say I prefer to be Jack or Amy.

I remember an 11 year old crying when I said first rather than second name. If they later have choice I see less of an issue, but I wouldn't have put my DC in that position.

I disagree that people are being rude. They are just telling the truth.I've seen first hand repeatedly what happens to children with "unusual" names. It's selfish to inflict horrendous choices on a child who has to suffer the hilarity and p-taking about their name. Its no coincidence that children with "out there" names change it as soon as possible. Any parent thinking of their child will not subject them to ridicule. Really hope this thread is a joke.

People are very rude! Op the names aren't up my street but they're not my children! I do however prefer them to some of the more modern hybrid names!

I’m usually pretty cool with unusual names but Seawillow and Symphony are awful. And certainly not for a boy.

Of the three, Sunshine for a girl.

Not meant to be a PA 'interesting'. I genuinely just find gender norms really interesting (dumb, but still interesting) but I think that's for a different thread

With the greatest respect the names are very pretty and effeminate. That's why I assumed you knew you were having a girl im.sorry but i wouldn't give any of them to a boy. I don't think he'd thank you,to be perfectly honest

I'm glad Seawillow is getting more votes as it's my favourite by a little

Interesting to see a couple of people are assuming baby is a she (we don't actually know yet)

I've never heard any bad connotations about the name William. Which also has the potential nn Willy.

I have a cat called Sunny and we call him Sunny sunshine so she could st least be called Sunny

Symphony - nick name phony? No!!

Sea willow - nick name see willy - no!!

All a bit hippy for my taste
