Would you describe Molly as being a classic name, like Leah and Beth and Kate; or as a more modern/cute name like Poppy and .. I can't think of any others!

In spite of that, Molly is a nice name. Prefer Holly though.

No I wouldn't say it was classic, to me they are Charlotte, Alice, Eleanor, Harriet, Elizabeth, Lucy type thing.

Molly is in the same boat as Maisie, Pearl, Evelyn, Ivy, Ada, Edith type of name

Yes! I'm the same! I do know that its a very old name, but it seems cute and modern! I'm wondering if it goes with my 2 DDs who have classic names. Or would she stand out like a sore thumb.

Also, does it suit an adult??

Truthfully, I wouldn't call any of those names classic. Elizabeth and Katherine are classic, but Beth or Kate as full names are definitely not. Leah, Molly and Poppy are more modern/cutesy, I would never consider them classics.

I think of this as a cutsie name, and it’s goes with all the Millie’s and Ellie’s. All 3 names are very very popular here and there are at least 2 of each name (some sometimes) in each primary school class. I know 2 babies with the name Molly too.

However it is a very lovely name. So depends on whether you care about it being popular.

Although it’s a name that stretches back many many decades, I do think of it as
a more modern cute name. Which is strange of me as, with the exception of one 7 yr old, all the Mollys I know are 75yrs plus

I like it though and do think it’s more classic than the likes of Poppy.
