Found out we’re having a girl, can I ask your opinions on...
Verity
Waverley
Kayla

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Kayla and Verity are nice, I would say Verity is much posher sounding than Kayla.

Waverley is dreadful, sorry. It doesn't even shorten to a nice NN that I can think of.

Ineedabiscuit · 09/06/2018 08:36

I think Verity is lovely .
Waverley is a nice name, not for a girl, but for a country house I think.
Kayla for me is bit ‘ Chardoney ‘ straight out Towie - sorry !

Jammycustard · 09/06/2018 08:23

Verity.

Frosty66612 · 09/06/2018 08:21

Verity is fine. Kayla is ok I suppose. Waverley is bloody awful

TatianaLarina · 09/06/2018 08:19

Strongly dislike all of them, sorry.

HmmInteresting · 09/06/2018 07:59

My 2yr old is called Verity. I love it and have never met another Verity her age. Always get lots of comments on how lovely her name is.

FairySpring · 09/06/2018 07:48

There's also a Disney show called Wizards of Waverley Place.

I like Verity

SamanthaH92 · 09/06/2018 07:33

I LOVE Waverley!!
Its on my list and partner liked it till his mum said no because its a train station

ButterflyOfFreedom · 09/06/2018 07:30

I'm not keen on Verity but it's my favourite of those three.
Kayla is ok but sounds a bit made up and a bit 'soft'.
Waverley is a place I think and doesn't seem right first a girls name.

badgerread · 09/06/2018 07:29

Verity is lovely!
Waverley is a borough council in Surrey...

deptfordgirl · 09/06/2018 07:26

LOVE Verity, I would have gone for this if dh had agreed. Not keen on the other two.

Hassled · 09/06/2018 07:25

Another vote for Verity. It's really pretty.
Agree that Waverley is a train station.

Puremince · 09/06/2018 07:24

Verity is lovely.

Waverley makes me think of either the train station or the novels.

FreshHorizons · 09/06/2018 06:23

Verity is lovely but I dislike the other 2.

Candyflip · 09/06/2018 06:15

I hate Waverley. It reminds me of wizards of Waverly Place,

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/06/2018 06:05

I like the sound of Verity but I think if you're going to name your child after a virtue, truth is a bit meh. Hope, Charity, those are more aspirational.

Coey2016 · 09/06/2018 05:59

Kayla is my favourite. I know a little Cayla and I think that spelling is pretty too.

Sophronia · 08/06/2018 23:31

Verity

TroubledLichen · 08/06/2018 23:25

Verity I don’t personally like but it’s a perfectly acceptable name.
Waverley is not a name it’s a train station/place/street name/kid’s tv show.
Kayla is marginally better than Waverley but it also sounds like you made it up.

JaretsGirlfren · 08/06/2018 23:23

I used to work with a Verity, everyone called her ‘Variety’ Confused

What about Michaela with the nickname Kayla?

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 08/06/2018 23:18

What eclectic tastes you have!

Verity is lovely.
Kayla is dreadful.
Waverley isn't a name for a child. It's a place.

LadyGAgain · 08/06/2018 23:18

If this is the 3 then Kayla. Verity is a flitty rodent (sorry) and Waverley is a place name that isn't at all pretty as a girls name. Congrats on having a daughter. Very hard work but worth every minute!!

Jj2431 · 08/06/2018 23:16

Verity- was supposed to be my name. I'd have hated my name if my parents had gone for it.

Waverley- don't get it.

Kayla- like it. Wouldn't to mad but it's best one.

RavenWings · 08/06/2018 22:20

Verity - lovely
Waverley - Wizards of Waverley Place, used to be a kids programme. Can't get behind this one, it's ridiculous.
Kayla - fine. Not as nice as Verity.

RedDwarves · 08/06/2018 22:19

Also, yes, to me, Waverley is a suburb of Sydney (and a train station).
