Casimir or Ansel?

Hi everyone, we are struggling a bit between two boys names, though we know the middle name will most likely be Roland. We already have a Florian and an Aurelia.

Casimir is the french/more french (we are in France and DH is French) spelling of Kazimir, the name of a dear family member who was imprisoned in Dachau. I love the family aspect of the name (Aurelia is also a family name), but we are a bit worried that the name is a bit harsh sounding.

Ansel is simply just a name we both really like. Additionally, we love Ansel Adams' photographs.

Thoughts? Smile

As a francophone, I say no to Casimir. I had children’s book with a casîmir livre.fnac.com/a7414497/Casimir-Nos-annees-Casimir-Pierre-Alek-Beddiar.

Not an easy name to carry. Go for Ansel

I like both, I don't think Casimir sounds harsh, it goes better with your other DC's names.

Ansel- first think I thought of when I looked at it was pile creamBlush sorry. I know it's spelt different, but that's what came to my mind.

I love Casimir, and with the family association I would go for that. I think it flows very well with Florian and Aurelia too. Beautiful names all.

While I can see the attraction of Ansel, and also love Ansel Adams' work, I always think it sounds like a Cockney pronunciation of Hansel.
