DH name pronunciation

I am well aware of regional dialect etc so for context DH and I grew up in the same area, went to the same school and sixth form, we did go to different Uni's. My favourite girl's name is Tabitha, DH says he likes it best out of our list too but incessantly pronounces it Tabiffuh , I've explained it's a th not a f, but he hasn't said it properly once yet. It's not a complex name, and he says this , that and the other not fis, fat and fe ofer. I feel like I have to give up on my favourite name because he's too lazy to say it properly.

The ILs come from a place with an accent I have grown to hate (purely because of them and I know that’s u!) and they say DS’s name in a horrible nasaly whiny way. Luckily we dont see them anymore. It made me feel ill!

My husband is the same, not regional just can't annunciate "th". It put me off choosing a few of the names I liked!

I wouldn't give a baby a name one of us couldn't pronounce. Where we live Felix (to me feel-ix) would be pronounced fell-ix and i knew 9/10 i'd balls it up! So we named him something else.

It would annoy me, too, to be honest. Although they're written the same, the "th" sound in Tabitha is a different sound to the "th" at the beginning of "this" or "that", "the" or "other", so the fact that he can say those words isn't relevant. Can he say "think" or "birthday" or "south", for example, with a "th" sound at the end? Can he hear the difference?

We had this, DH pronounced Beth as Beff. I wasn’t having a Beff so we named her something else Hmm

If I knew my husband said I Zack instead of i sack I'd never of used it as a name. I tell him every day its an S not a Z but he seems to not understand. Either that or he just enjoys angering me. Its been 5 years and he still says Z :(

I wouldn't use a name that DH said wrong. Trust me it will irritate you no end. Xxx

That would put me off to be honest. My OH is the same but with H's. We have Hannah and Helena on our girls list but he always says them as Anna and Elena grrrrr so I doubt we will end up using them
