I love it and we are considering it. It's the name of one of the disciples and a bit more interesting than Peter or James.

Is it said with a Th or a T at the start. I think it's nice either way, I just never heard it out loud. Tad make sense than Ted

I’m still flummoxed by this notion that parents would allow their children to ‘bully’ another kid because it’s name didn’t fit with their idea of ‘acceptable’ or ‘normal’. That’s nothing to do with the way you name a child and all to to with how others choose to raise theirs. How terribly small-minded. I lived in Birmingham and have lived in London....the beautiful, exotic and culturally diverse naming conventions here in the UK allow anyone to be as flamboyant or conservative as they like. Don’t listen to naysayers.

I went to schools with an Aloysius, Inigo, Iuno, Ambrose and Ignatius. Not one of them was bullied or picked on because their slightly unusual names. I think it’s a great name.

I know a really lovely Thady. I'm in Ireland and it would tend to be pronounced TAYdee with an almost hard T.

I love it OP! More people need to be bold and use names like this. We were considering Aurelius for a Boy and I'm sure that would have raised some eyebrows... but who cares! We're far from pretentious. People love to.fly that word around and I think it's kind of rude imo!

I think its awful, sorry. Some lovely alternatives could be Theodore (nn Ted), Tobias, Silas, Julius or Cassius. :)

I met a newborn Thaddeus recently. I quite like it, certainly don't think it is awful, and Ted/ Tad would be obvious shortenings. The only thing that puts me off is that it sounds a bit lispy, but that just might be me!
