Rainbow baby.

We are expecting our rainbow baby and it’s a boy! If he had been a girl he would have been Iris meaning ‘rainbow’
Does anyone know a boys name that has a similar meaning or is well fitting for a baby after a loss? Either for a first or a middle name. Thank you-Jane.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

As Iris was messenger to the gods in Greek mythology, you could maybe go for Gabriel (as in the angel Gabriel), a similar messenger between heaven and earth.

Sorry OP for the above messiness...

It's a shame to have negativity on your thread about your wonderful rainbow baby!

Congratulations Smile I hope you find a name you love and I wish you all the best Flowers

Lennon, Magnus, Lux

LilQueenie · 01/06/2018 20:25

boatass it is a personal attack to anyone with or has kids with those names.

MaybeyBaybey · 01/06/2018 20:19

skaggy kid

Top definition of "the urban dictionary":

skanky, janky, and ugly; narsty

That skaggy bitch tries to get with everyone, but nobody will touch her cos she's so skaglicious

www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=skaggy

Great adjective for a child...Hmm

CopONNotLinkedIn · 01/06/2018 19:51

Ah right thank you for explanation.🌞🌈☄

@cosmoa personal attacks are against talk guidelines, commenting on names is not

Cosmoa · 01/06/2018 19:47

@boatass

"Theodore and Lucas are hideous.
Every little Skaggy kid is called Theo now and Lucas is very common"

Well are you a delight!!! Jeez.. Keep to yourself you vile person!

JaneDoDo · 01/06/2018 19:45

Some beautiful suggestions here ladies! Some I’m not sure I would be brave enough to use! But could be bolder with a middle name🤔
Your comment is a bit rude boat but thanks for your input all the same.
Keep the ideas coming, I’ll bombard husband when he returns from work!

Is Finnian too removed? As in Finnian's Rainbow.

Cosmoa · 01/06/2018 19:10

Quite bold but... Aurelius means golden and you could use Ray as a nn. Or Auri which is cute! We were considering it if we had a boy.

BB2018 · 01/06/2018 18:48

Agreed that Ray is fab!

LilQueenie · 01/06/2018 18:37

Jalus
Musoke

both mean rainbow

MaybeyBaybey · 01/06/2018 18:35

But Ray-bogen would sound nicer, tbh. :)

(Well, imo)

Flooffloof · 01/06/2018 18:31

A “rainbow baby” is a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss.In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. ... We have a few Rainbow Babies in the team and the term makes perfect sense to describe them

CopONNotLinkedIn · 01/06/2018 18:28

What is a rainbow baby?

CopONNotLinkedIn · 01/06/2018 18:27

Ps what is a regnbue baby!

CopONNotLinkedIn · 01/06/2018 18:27

Oh sorry for the misinformation OP!

So. How abow Reg!!

MaybeyBaybey · 01/06/2018 18:24

I think regenbogen is pronounced with a 'ray' sound at the beginning altho im not German speaker.

More like egg. Or air. (Well, kind of.)

I'm a native German speaker btw.

moomoo85 · 01/06/2018 18:14

Not quite the same but have you considered Isaac

While the meaning is laughter so not directly related to the child being a rainbow baby I really like the significance that the story of Isaac in the bible had him as a child who was wanted, wished for and prayed for for many years.

CopONNotLinkedIn · 01/06/2018 18:08

I see several beat me to ray!

CopONNotLinkedIn · 01/06/2018 18:05

Luci. (Loochee)

Ray short for regenbogen
