What do you think? Is it too much?

I came across it and it keeps coming back into my mind... is it pregnancy hormones?!

I worked with a lovely boy called Lysander. Had never heard it before but he really suited his name.

It is unusual but not unheard of.Easy to spell and pronounce. I like it's associations. I have known 2, both now teens. I put it in the same category as Hector. I am not a fan of very unusual names in general but Lysander does have something about it.

Problems in pronouncing it- I wouldn’t be concerned about that. Great name in my opinion.

Strangely although I am from the South of England and would say Alex-arn -der I wouldn’t say Ly-sarnd-er, it would be Lysander. No idea why.

Lysander was a Spartan general and also a WW2 plane. Is it the Shakespeare connection that makes it supposedly ‘posh’? There’s no real reason for it to be.

If you’re southern it’s Lysarnder - so the sander reference is irrel.

It's a main road name in my town so really hard to think of it as a dc name, I just see Morrison's, McDonald's, b&q and Lidl's, although the other side of the road has a beautiful park Blush

Is the Jilly Cooper novel a bad connotation? I had a look and it's from 1993... is it well known and relevant?

I'm only vaguely aware of Jilly Cooper.
But I guess I'd rather he made husbands jealous than be a jealous husband I guess!

My OH is now sending me voice memos of 'belt sander' and 'electric sander' after I suggested it so may have to let it sit with him a while before he feels the love for it too!
