Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MariaMadita · 26/07/2018 07:53

Yes, @FintyTin, Yael/Jael :))!!

This ancient hero
the Deborah song is one of the oldest poems in the old testament.

brought years of peace to a people
40 years of peace for Israel

using simple tools
a hammer and a tent-pin (and a carpet in the prose account).

violence
Spiky stick through the temples= violence

The worthy hero's
she's one of the nine heroes / worthies by Hans Burgkmair.

name is connected to one of the first of usually 5 kingdoms

One of the first: biological classifications, animalia and plantae were the first two. And Yael means mountain goat.

Of usually five: some American textbooks apparently use 6. (Thanks, WikipediaWink)

FintyTin · 25/07/2018 21:16

Jael?

LadyGAgain · 25/07/2018 20:35

Leona?

FintyTin · 25/07/2018 19:28

finallychangedmyusername · 25/07/2018 17:50

Helen?

MariaMadita · 24/07/2018 13:56

Oh good, I'm honestly relieved.GrinBlush

This old name (or any of its variations) has not been in the top 1000s in England and Wales since 1996 (The data unfortunately doesn't seem to go further) but our hero's story isn't unknown in the UK.

LadyGAgain · 23/07/2018 22:42

Please another clue! You've not killed the game. My brain is currently on other matters but I want to play Smile

finallychangedmyusername · 23/07/2018 22:11

Yes please, another clue please!

throwcushions · 23/07/2018 22:06

Maybe another clue to help us out? Grin

MariaMadita · 23/07/2018 20:37

Maybe;) I just hope I didn't kill the game, tbh...🙊

throwcushions · 22/07/2018 19:07

A difficult clue is a good clue!

MariaMadita · 22/07/2018 07:03

No, not Harmony or Destiny either.

Maybe my clues are just bad, sorry...Blush

ElsieLee · 21/07/2018 10:06

Harmony? Destiny?

MariaMadita · 20/07/2018 21:11

No, sorry.

ElsieLee · 20/07/2018 12:09

throwcushions · 20/07/2018 11:25

MariaMadita · 20/07/2018 07:41

@finallychangedmyusername

Sorry, I've just seen that now...

No, not Beowulf.

And I unfortunately failed to mention that the hero is a woman. Sorry! Blush

finallychangedmyusername · 19/07/2018 18:24

Beowulf?!

MariaMadita · 19/07/2018 17:28

I tried to make it logical without being super obvious but idk whether I succeeded...

Anyhow:

This ancient hero brought years of peace to a people using simple tools and violence.

The worthy hero's name is connected to one of the first of usually 5 kingdoms.

MariaMadita · 19/07/2018 14:16

Oh my gosh, really? Yassss! Ha, take it DH ;)!

Ehm, right. I'm actually on my way to a check up but I think (I hope...) I'll have managed to come up with a riddle when I'm back. (Might have to run it by DH to make sure it makes sense in English...)

Sorry for not having one ready for you right now! Blush

finallychangedmyusername · 19/07/2018 13:48

Aaagh, well done @MariaMadita and great clues @FintyTin! Grin

My brain hurts a lot after that last one! Wink

FintyTin · 19/07/2018 09:26

You have it, @MariaMadita!

Jared means ‘descent’. His name is positively (Ja) colourful (red).
The king is Jared Followill from Kings of Leon, whose sex was on fire (surely requiring both fire service and paramedics...)
Jarred Christmas the comedian.
Jared Harris, son of Richard (from the Harry Potter films).

Well done and over to you Smile

finallychangedmyusername · 18/07/2018 21:32

Jackson?

MariaMadita · 18/07/2018 20:48

Jared?

FintyTin · 18/07/2018 20:10

No, sorry.

Another owner of the name is the son of a wizard.
