Seen this somewhere else before and it threw out some brilliant names and unusual choices so....
your guilty pleasure names, names you love but perhaps wouldn’t use

Actually, I did have Matthias on my actual list of boys names for the DC1 but having seen DH's reaction to more everyday names, I don't think I even bothered mentioning it. If DS had been a girl, he would have been Alexandra but not Alessandra as the complete lack of Italian connections would have made it look a bit odd.

@Patal I have a close friend called Kingsley. He mostly gets called King of Kings. Very strong name which he gets complimented on most times we are out *yawn Grin

Most of our cats' names have come up here- we call our cats all the pretentious names my DH wouldn't let me call our DCs.
I would have loved to have called my eldest Scarlett, which would have really suited her, but no-go with boring DH.

I know toddlers called Hector, rafe, cassian and two called Jago!

My sons middle name has been mentioned 😁

My own too out there choice was Dashiel, nick name Dash.

Oh I would do love to meet a toddler Humphrey. Not sure a teenage boy would thank their parents though. Shame

Boy's names:

Fiorello, Korbinian, Severin and names that are hyphenated with Marie/Maria. I like hyphenated boy's names in general, tbh.

Girl's names:
Lettice, Sophronia, Gemma, Severina, Roxanne. (Idk if Gemma is a genuine gp name. But it's one of my favourite names and my lovely spouse apparently hates it...😑)

My daughters name has come up on here ☺️ It is a bit of a marmite name though.
Girls: Arrietty
Boys: Ptolemy
We named our baby in the sky Vesper as it means ‘evening star’ I don’t think I would be brave enough to name an earth baby Vesper.

Girls - Hero, Antigone (Tiggy), Sage, Cressida, Cecilia, Camilla, Celine, Marianne, Bianca, Valentina, Delilah, Bathsheba, Octavia, Ianthe, Isolde

Boys - Santiago, Enzo, Paris, Ellery, Victor, Jasper, Inigo, Rafael, Axel, Fox, Emerson, Elijah, Blaine, Hector, Otto, Griffin

To be fair I’d totally use some of the above, but DP is more of the Jane and John school of naming so we’re going to have to meet somewhere in the middle!

A few 'Marmite' names that I’d be worried about my child hating – Myrtle, Hester, Dennis, Eugene
