Another boy list to rate

Dear all

After much deliberation with DH, boy names we agree on are as follows:

Elias
Ewan
Ezra
Louis
Reuben
Oscar

Ideally we do not want a overly popular name which definitely rules out Oscar and maybe Reuben (which I think is also popular), but hey it’s a small list already as we hardly agree on anything. What do people think of these and which are your favourites?? Also any other suggestions which you think we may like based on this list will be gratefully recieved Smile.

Ezra Reuben lastname is a winner for me! 💙😍

Ruthshaw1980 · 27/05/2018 16:41

Isaac is a excellent choice but belongs to baby 2’s brother!!! Consequently I think that rules out Isaiah which is also a nice name. Isaac and Isaiah??? Mmm that definitely does not sound right

y-ZEE-kee-ul.

You might also like Zachary, Zachariah, Jeremy, Isaac, Noam, Ethan, Emmanuel, Immanuel, Eran and Isaiah.

Many thanks to all who have posted so far. To date Elias is the clear winner and seems to be most popular, followed by Ezra. Ewan/Euan, Reuben and Louis and neck and neck after that followed by Oscar is who a distant last.

My favourites of this list are Elias, Ezra and Ewan/Euan, however I have no idea what DH’s are since he changes his mind like the wind.

Thank you for other fabulous suggestions, most have been discussed previously and vetoed by DH. Angry

Elijah - vetoed
Rowan - vetoed (shame as my absolute no 1 boy name)
Toby - nephew is called this but great name
Benjamin - vetoed
Tristan - vetoed

Ezekiel is interesting and not discussed before, how do you say this???

Please keep rating this list and more suggestions very welcome

Really lovely names OP.
If you like Elias have you considered Esaias (Isaiah?)
I also love Elijah and Eli.
I do like Ezra but there are biblical names I prefer, like Silas, Micah and Solomon...

Mammyloveswine · 26/05/2018 22:18

I like Elias... also Elijah. Eli would work as a cute nn for both?

Ikeameatballs · 26/05/2018 22:15

I think Elias fits your spec best.

What about:

Luca/Lucas/Luke
Amos
Toby

babycakes1010 · 26/05/2018 22:07

What about Ellis

Heartofglass12345 · 26/05/2018 22:00

I like Reuben and Ezra!
What about Ellis?

DramaAlpaca · 26/05/2018 20:02

I like Ewan & Louis.

The rest I'm not mad about. My least favourite, by a long way, is Ezra.

MaybeBabey · 26/05/2018 19:58

Favourites: Louis and Elias.

Least favourite: Ezra.

Dangerousminds · 26/05/2018 18:45

I love all those names. Favourite is Louis, least probably Elias but only because I'm never sure how to pronounce it.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/05/2018 18:12

I love Louis, but I like Reuben and Elias.

ZebraKid71 · 26/05/2018 16:55

I love elias! I have only ever heard of one, with a brother Jonah, and think it is a fab name.

FogCutter · 26/05/2018 16:42

I like Elias and Ezra

CupofFrothyCoffee · 26/05/2018 16:42

Ewan is my favourite.

Sophronia · 26/05/2018 16:41

I like Ewan (prefer the Euan spelling)

Jj2431 · 26/05/2018 14:02

Elias - had this on my list but was unsure so got rid but it's a nice name

Ewan- can only think of the sheep and ewww

Ezra- my favourite boys name but I don't think I'll end up using as it doesn't go with our surname. Gutted!

Louis- just been a prince Louis so remember it will be popular. Too sweet sounding for me also.

Reuben- love this and would have had it on my list but have a cousin with this name

Oscar- it's a pet name to me

frasier · 26/05/2018 13:10

Love Oscar but I know quite a few of them.

Love Louis but there may be a few of them soon! (Although I read somewhere on MN that "George" became less popular when Prince George was named, so maybe not.)

Eloi? Think it's French

catalinablue · 26/05/2018 13:10

Love the name Elias. Also like Ezra, and whilst it is increasing in popularity I don't think this is a huge issue. It's not like Jack, George, James, Harry, Oliver, etc when it comes to popularity, where there are high chances of him being one of 3 in his class. Unless you lived in a bit of a hipster suburb maybe?

I don't mind Oscar or Louis, but not a huge fan of your other names. Some other suggestions would be: Ellis, Joel, Nathaniel (Nate), Henry, Evan, Roman, Elliot, Hugo, Matteo.

HeyDolly · 26/05/2018 13:04

Evan?

Ruthshaw1980 · 26/05/2018 13:01

Good suggestion of Elliot, however has already been dicussed and DH does not like. Please keep other ideas coming.

Elias - not keen, prefer Ellis
Ewan - prefer Euan, I like it
Ezra - not keen
Louis - a bit royal family
Reuben - not keen
Oscar - no

Ruthshaw1980 · 26/05/2018 12:51

Many thanks Littlejayx and Icklepup for quick replies. Totally agree on concerns about Ezra and Louis. I know Ezra is now within top 100 and getting popular in London, although we are North East. Louis had been agreed for ages as our boy name then the Duke and Duchess threw a spanner in the works. I assume Louis will now be very popular and everyone will think we copied the Royals when that is certainly not the case Angry
