Call him Teddy or call him Theodore and use Teddy as a nickname

Me and DP can't decide but we're swaying toward just Teddy as that's what he'd always be called. We're not overly in love with Theodore either. He could always use Ted when he was older if he didn't like Teddy

I think it would be nice to have the option of a full name. I like Theodore, Edwin and Edward.

I always think it is better to use the full name on the bc rather than the nickname. It just allows the person more versatility with their name. Theodore is a lovely name, Teddy is good, but if the child wants to go by Theo later he couldn't if you'd just put Teddy on the bc.

Theodore (although Edward is much nicer). It's his name, let him decide what he'll always be called. Teddy is cute, but a grown man isn't necessarily going to love the cuteness.

Definitely Theodore, he may prefer the shortening of Theo later, which is a pretty cool option.

Have Teddy as a nickname and give him Theodore/Edward as a full name. I have a short form of a name as my full name and it's a right pain as everyone assumes it's really the long version and try to use that. As a result my two have "proper" names on their birth certs but go by the short form.

Edward? Please don't put Teddy on the birth certificate. He's going to be a man one day and shouldn't be named after a toy bear.

Theodore; he may not thank you to be officially Teddy in later life. Theodore has much more gravitas - he could be Theo.

We have a Teddy but he is officially Edward. Other options could be Edmund, Theo

I love the name Teddy, for a child. But not so cute for the adult... I'd definitely consider a stronger name that they can then shorten if they want to... Theodore and Edward are both nice names x

Definitely Theodore. Teddy is OK for a toddler I suppose but he might want the option of a grown up name when he's older.

Edward also shortens to Teddy if you prefer that to Theodore.
