I used to work with a Kendall. She was nice and the name suited her- it was just her name and I dont think anyone thought anything of it.

People would assume that you were naming her after Kendall Jenner and expecting her to turn out to be a tall willowy model-type like her namesake.

It does make you think of the place (and of the Kardashian). But in this case I maybe wouldn't say it was too masculine, or an American trend, since I actually went to school (in the UK) with a female Kendall, and I am in my fifties.

I'm not that keen though, TBH.

I’ll be the one person so far to say...I love it.

I don’t usually like ‘surname’ names as first names but I love Kendall. It’s very American, there was a Kendall on Dance Moms.

If you love it, go for it.

To be fair Kendall is a Jenner not a Kardashian. It is a very American sounding name, not that that's a bad thing. I'm not a huge fan of it to be honest but it's not a terrible name.

I wouldn't make the Kardashian connexion, as I don't watch and am only vaguely aware.

I would think you had been disappointed not to have had a boy, and that Barbie's Ken had had a big impression on you in your childhood. Or that you secretly have the hots for William Roache.

Surname names work much better on boys that girls in general, and this one particularly so. Because Ken is the obvious shortening and Corrie is still one of the most watched programmes and he's been on screen for over 60 years and still going strong.

To me, it sounds American. Reminds me of the singer Kendel Carson (who is Canadian, not US) who is very beautiful and very talented so it has good associations in my mind.
