Lucy, but there's not a lot in it.

tubularfells · 15/05/2018 18:54

I like Isobel but all the ones I know have become Izzys. Which I think is a shame. Even if Lucy is called Luce by friends, she will still be known and recognisable as Lucy - parents, teachers, etc.

DarthArts · 15/05/2018 18:50

Isobel

ScreamingValenta · 15/05/2018 18:50

Lucy

Mollie85 · 15/05/2018 18:43

Love both but Lucy still sounds “fresh” to me, despite its age Grin

You have fab taste, OP Flowers

MollyHuaCha · 15/05/2018 16:28

Lucy. But I love Isobel too.

CheeseTheDay · 15/05/2018 15:59

Lucy - I'm 100% bored of the Isabel/Isobel names.

DumbarsesEverywhere · 15/05/2018 15:23

Isobel

I dislike Lucy and have never met a nice one, but every Isobel I've met has been lovely.

BitOutOfPractice · 15/05/2018 14:32

Isobel (especially that spelling)

chezmk1988 · 15/05/2018 14:32

Of course Isobel...

MikeUniformMike · 15/05/2018 13:37

Lucy Aisling is lovely.

toomanybirds · 15/05/2018 09:45

I like Isobel but there are so many Isabellas and other Izzys around at the moment that I'd probably go for Lucy.

Pudding01 · 15/05/2018 09:36

Wow, thanks for the replies! Grin I think I've tallied them up right... Look at the turn around!

Isobel - 37 Lucy - 68 !

I think both are very pretty names. When i was last pregnant it was a toss up between Erin & Lucy.

Isobel is a beautiful name. I prefer the nn Izzy to Belle, DH doesn't like any of the nns.
As for the spelling, my name is Holly and I still have to say 'no, with a Y' at times, so I don't think either name is more complicated than the other.
Lucy is timeless classic, to me. But I worried it was a bit too plain (and I don't like Lucinda etc), but this thread has changed that opinion now!

Like the suggestion on Lucy Isobel. Middle name was going to be Aisling, in memory of my Auntie.

Thanks ladies!

Joeybee · 14/05/2018 21:58

Lucy. Isobel/Isabelle is way too popular. Lucy is a nice, classic, timeless name.

Summerisdone · 14/05/2018 21:55

Lucy.
I think both are very pretty, but Isobel (or similar variations of) has become very popular lately and there will be lots of kids with the same name in the kid's school, probably even their class, whereas I've not actually hears of many kids named Lucy for a while, in fact I don't think I know a single one under 15

GoulashSoup · 14/05/2018 21:52

Lucy
