I’ve been looking for unique names that fit well with each other but aren’t too similar and I feel that these go perfectly. Thoughts?

I think they go really well together, although phoebe is a lot more popular than heidi

Cockmagic · 13/05/2018 09:13

What about Heidi and Maddie?

BB2018 · 13/05/2018 09:08

Lovely, and they do work together.

If you wanted to dodge the ‘ee’ sound at the end of both, I love from previous posts:
Heidi and Ellen
Heidi and Orla
Or you could have two 19th century literary names:
Heidi and Lorna

But these are just names I love (they’re all on my list except Heidi because our surname kills that one!). If you love Phoebe, go for it!

Just lovely.

Like Heidi and Cara too.

buttercup54321 · 12/05/2018 23:55

Don't like Phoebe as it reminds me of feeble. Don't like Heidi either too much like hi de hi.
Harriet and Chloe?

speakfriendandenter · 12/05/2018 19:00

Lovely, I think they go well together too

daisypond · 12/05/2018 18:49

I don't think they go at all. Phoebe goes back to the ancient Greek, and Heidi can only refer to the character in the Swiss children's story -and her name is Adelheid anyway. So one's a full classic name from down the ages, and the other is a specific diminutive from a children's book. I'd feel very shortchanged if I was called Heidi.

BlueEyedBengal · 12/05/2018 16:44

Love them , congratulations to you.

Littlepond · 12/05/2018 16:41

Awesome names! And sounds so perfect together for your twin girls. I agree they are not “unique” - Heidi is more unusual than Phoebe, but just gorgeous names. I love Heidi particularly.

Elmersnewfriend · 12/05/2018 16:39

Probably showing my age, but Heidi and Cara would be far too much like Heidi and Clara from the story (and I know she was poorly, but Clara was always very annoying from memory)!

I think Heidi and Phoebe are lovely OP

chezmk1988 · 12/05/2018 16:37

Very nice for twin girls

gwen25 · 12/05/2018 16:11

Love Phoebe, strongly dislike Heidi.

Mollie85 · 12/05/2018 15:47

I have an irrational dislike for Heidi. It automatically makes me want to say “hi” after it and conjures up images of blonde plaited milkmaids... I don’t have much of an imagination Grin

Phoebe I love, but agree with other posters that it’s not unique.

Suggestions:

Phoebe and Alice
Phoebe and Cora
Phoebe and Lucy
Phoebe and Molly
Phoebe and Della

Itscolderoutside · 12/05/2018 15:38

I wouldn't say these are the same style of name. Phoebe has been fairly popular in last 5 years but a classic feel, while Heidi seems a bit more of a novelty name (now 'having a moment"), and I think will date more. So to me they don't seem a twin pair as one name is more classic than the other.
Also think the similar e/i sound at the end make them harder to say quickly as a pair. Sorry, just my view. Maybe Phoebe and Freya, Phoebe and Lydia, Phoebe and Harriet, or Phoebe and Greta?

FriendlyOcelot · 12/05/2018 15:25

Both beautiful and quite timeless names.

lindyhopy · 12/05/2018 15:23

Both lovely names and sound great together

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 12/05/2018 15:04

Whoops - misspelled! I mean Phoebe.

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 12/05/2018 15:03

Also agree that Pheobe is super popular - loads at DC's schools.

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 12/05/2018 15:02

Love the suggestion of Heidi and Maeve! It somehow makes Heidi feel less twee.

DramaAlpaca · 12/05/2018 14:58

I'm in the minority here in that I don't think they go together at all. And they definitely aren't unique. I don't like the matchy 'ee' endings & also they are such different styles of name. To me, Phoebe is classy & elegant while Heidi is not... it's twee & cutesy.

yikesanotherbooboo · 12/05/2018 14:49

Lovely names. My impression is that Phoebe is less popular among tinies.Cara nice too.

Mrsbarton · 12/05/2018 13:02

Gorgeous, love them both and they go so well together!

Sophronia · 12/05/2018 12:38

I’m not keen on either name, and they’re certainly not unique, but they do go well together.

redmini4 · 12/05/2018 12:35

Very different names but actually sound really nice together.
