A sibling for Caoimhe

So I have a Caoimhe (keeva, we are in Ulster so correct pronunciation for here), looking girls names, what should I be shortlisting!

Open to all ideas.

So far on my list is Fiadh but dh is not fussed

We had previously short listed Laoise but not sure if I love it anymore.

Alanna is said to come from “a with leanbh” which translates to “ah child” - best described as meaning “my darling child”.

Macuisle comes from pulse. The phrase that springs to mind to “mo chuisle mo chroí” which means “pulse of my heart”.

Like the songs Eileen Alannah and Macushla? I like those, but are they 'real' names? (Genuine question from a curious English person, not criticism.) Very romantic names anyway, and sort of Edwardian. A bit like my late great granny who was called Kathleen, though I don't think any of our family were actually Irish.

If you need help with pronunciation, just ask. New languages can be hard. There’s no shame in asking for help.

I would have said Aisling, but you don't like it. I think Róusín is beautiful also.

Sorry I posted too quick.. I will just say as much as I ADORE Aoife (I have one myself) It will be too close in pronunciation to Caoimhe You get the EEEEAAA sound on both names... I have 2 dd's with seemingly very different names but both have pronounced EEEE AAA sounds so you get them both going " did you mean me?"

Beibhinn doesn't have a fada iirc. It's 'Bevin', rhyming with Kevin. With a fada it would be Bay-vinn

There is no i in it, but there is a fada, and is Bay-veen

I know of a Caoimhe whose older sister is Aoife. I also like Deirbhile, Órlaith and Róisín.

I found these websites which are full of Irish names. I struggle a bit with some of the pronunciations in my Ulster accent but maybe that’s just me reading them in english brain.

I liked Bay veen pronunciation but I think in Ulster a lot of people would say bev in. My dh turned me of it saying people would shorten it to bev

Yes there is a fada on the e in Béibhinn.
