Well we've finally decided on a name for our little girl x Laura, what does everyone think when they hear it

Sorry, for me it’s just too soon to be refreshing. The opposite of refreshing, tired and dull. Like boot leg jeans I’m just not ready for the come back. I can’t get excited about Becky or Kate either. But as everyone likes it I’m obviously too old! Smile

I went ro school with alot of them but it's never heard these days making it refreshing. I met sisters called Sarah and Zoe recently and found it refreshing in the same way

Love it. Don’t know any Laura’s under 20, know a couple around my age. One of whom is one of the nicest people I’ve ever known, which colours the name for me!

I like it very much, it's gentle and feminine but unfussy and familiar.

I have a Leah Jane, the L and J go well together.

I think Lauren is more ‘dated’ than Laura.

It's very pretty. I think it's a classy, timeless name. I feel the same way about Hazel and Josephine which would make good middle names for Laura.

Laura is making a come back now Lauren and Lara have become too popular. I know of three Laura's under 10.

Laura Jane is lovely.

I met a baby Nora recently and misheard it as Laura. I was quite disappointed when I realised. Laura would have been far prettier and more unusual these days.

Love the name, don't know any irl. I think partly because I loved the Little House books (Laura Ingalls Wilder).

My mother in law is Laura. Its a beautiful name. Its strong and still feminine. Its not a name that will age badly.

I know others have mentioned middle names but its a solid name that doesn't need one. Yes if you have one plan by all means use one but don't be deterred of you don't find one that will go with it. Laura is due a come back its a great name.

One of my friend's has just named her daughter Laura. My first response was 'love it'. As a few have already said, very common for 80's babies but unusual nowadays. Beautiful choice

I’m not keen. It’s plain and outdated, very 80s. I much prefer Lara.

I like Laura but Laura Jane is just too 80s and it sounds dated.

I think if you are going to use Laura (which is lovely), you would need a middle name that seems quite fresh.

It is my name and although I wanted to be called Debbie in the 80's I love it! There is a 4 year at my son's preschool called Laura too so works for all ages.

Watched the wonderful old b&w film Laura the other day and was thinking to myself it’s a name that deserves to come back. Again.
