Southerner here, Some of these I haven't heard of so would guess unless I had access to google.

Struan - A guess at Strooan
Seamus - Shay-mus
Lachlan - Lock-lan
Ruairidh - I don't think I could even guess, I'd just say Roo-aird and blush a bit to be honest.

Why Ruairidh and not Ruaridh?

Ruaridh is an incorrect spelling. It's either Ruairidh or Ruaraidh.

I used to work with a Caoilfhionn. The day she started the CEO came around and said "This is.... pause....look at piece of paper...." She finally went Cweel-in. Mortifying.

I think people struggle with seemingly 'simple' names, my daughter has a three letter name and people pronounce that wrong!

Anything more 'complex' appears to blow peoples minds! Unless it is their own child of courseWink

I'm Scottish, in scotland and have a Lachlan and I pronounce it Lach-lan with the 'ch' as in Loch. I hate Locklan unless you spell it that way.

I’m a Scot living in England. I would say that no one will know if you pronounce Alisdair with a T or a D. I know an Alisdair and he gets both. Mainly with a D.

There’s a Lachlan at school with my DC. The kids call him Lachlan but the teachers call him locklan.

Bit worrying that Siobhan and Sinead would be problematic too I would have thought they were well known!

We've got Irish in the family too.
I want either a Scottish or Irish name, and from my list, those seem to be the ones that would probably cause the most trouble with pronunciation!
Wanted to gauge how much trouble 😂.
I do love the easier names like Angus, Hamish, Cameron etc!

OP, if it's Scottish names you're interested in, I feel obliged to mention that Seamus is the Irish spelling of the name. The Gaelic spelling is
Seumas.

Ruairidh will get Rory in England, I'm afraid.
I like Struan best of those.

There is a child called Ruairidh in my daughters class. We live in England (both Scots)! However this poor lad is forever having to explain his name. He is almost bullied because of it were me I would think carefully about how I spelled these names.

I also know a Siobhan and Sinead who have a nightmare with their names. Sad
