Hermione and Lysander for twins?

I'm expecting boy/girl twins and these are our current favourites. What do you think of them? Any other suggestions are gladly welcomed Smile

Love Lysander and I know a really cool one.

Hermione’s awful tho and it’s too like Hermia - it sounds as if you’re naming siblings after lovers.

What about Hero? Or Beatrice? As you seem to like Shakespeare.

Or Sebastian and Viola.

I like the name Eppie for a girl but most people would probably laugh at it. I think that's a shortened version of Eponine, maybe. I came across it years ago when reading Silas Marner.
In the end, I suppose, you go for what you like Smile

I'd only choose names like that if you are surrounded by Tarquins, Xaviers, Tristrams or Allegras, Rosalinds and Persephones. They sound super posh to me and maybe a bit too try-hard.
Also, Hermione sounds a bit like hymen to me which is instantly off-putting.

Hermione's OK- I know one known as Mi. But Lysander is awful. And together I would find it hard not to giggle. I wouldn't, obviously, but it would be a bit of a struggle.

Hermione is in The Winter's Tale, so I still think Shakespeare. Together, they're a bit full on but nice so long as they will be going to school with kids called Hugo and Arabella rather than Kayden and Lily-Rose.

Both names are quite a mouthful - would you shorten either of them, and if so, to what?

There was a Hermione AND a Lysander when we took DD to the Scott Dunn ski kid’s club. So if you also enjoy a budget busting ski trip be prepared that your children might one of several with the same name. But as for the names themselves, I do really like them.

My first thought was, aren't they two of the lovers out of Midsummer's Night Dream? Which is a bit icky for brother and sister. But I have checked and that was Hermia and Lysander, but the yuk thought is still in my head for that combination.

I like the names individually, but with both together it’s quite full on.

People may also think you mean Hermia and Lysander but have it wrong, but that’s not really a pairing you want to make for twins!

I have to admit I'd wonder if you'd mistaken Hermia for Hermione, as Midsummer night's dream is my only ref for Lysander.

I love Lysander but would be twitchy about 'Lice' too, Hermione is OK, but I reckon if you're brave enough for Lysander you could do better ;-)

Hermione is too Harry Potter for me as well I'm afraid. Lysander is cool but I'd think hard about whether people will shorten it, and what to. No one wants to be nicknamed Lice...

Don't like Hermione as I only think of Harry potter and don't see it as a name now because of it. Lysander was on my list a while back and is gorgeous.
