Hermione and Lysander for twins?

I'm expecting boy/girl twins and these are our current favourites. What do you think of them? Any other suggestions are gladly welcomed Smile

Unless you want your kids to be teased mercilessly then yes. They are very upper class names.

So posh people can call their kids what they like, but anyone else would be try hard. Know your place eh? And stick to class boundaries.

I love both of them. Classical names. The Shakespeare and Harry Potter connection just makes them even more appealing. Go for it.

@ShmooBooMoo In Silas Marner, Eppie is short for Hephzibah. I actually quite like it, it's a guilty pleasure. Smile

OP, I like Lysander. Not so keen on Hermione, I think even now you'll get a lot of Harry Potter comments with it.

I'd switch the Shakespeare for a Molière and go with Leander. Do love Lysander aswell though.

They’re all lovely names, some people like ‘posh’ names, some like ‘chavvy’ names - it’s all just unnecessary classist judgement both ways really. Just don’t go for Lysander and Miranda! Rhyming never good.

I love suggestions of Rosalind, Harriet, Felicity, Miranda, Alastair, Rufus, Sebastian. DH has much more flamboyant taste than me (just suggested Aloysius!) and has rejected them all. I think we might keep Lysander and rethink Hermione.

Viola and Sebastian are good if you want Shakespeare twins. Although can you imagine when they first go to see Twelfth Night and realise where you got their names from! Probably better to avoid.

I love both of them, they're such nice name to say aloud and I find them refreshingly different. Did you pick them because they're from books you've enjoyed or just cus of how nice the names sounded and they stuck with you?

They’re both derived from Hermes.

It just sounds like MSND is the inspiration.

I hadn't considered the Hermia/Hermione thing. In my head they seem quite distinct, but written down they probably are too similar. I'm not really a nickname planner; if they happen, they happen so I don't have anything planned for them but I do like Mina/Mya for Hermione and Sasha for Lysander.

DH has vetoed Tabitha, which would have been my favourite for a girl. Does anyone have any other suggestions that I might like?
