So I have always wanted to call my little girl this but need opinions - could be back to the drawing board. I have a Harry already and now Prince Harry is about to marry a Megan soooo I would have Harry and Megan 🙈 how much does that matter? My DH says its cringe. But its always been my name!!! 😓

Personally I don't think you can do it, especially the year of the wedding, people will think you've done it deliberately!

Also, Megan in the US and Australia is pronounced Meee-gan in case that matters to you

Of course you can use it. Some people might comment on it but most will have far better things to think about and do with their time. If you had had a daughter and called Megan this time last year, you wouldn’t be questioning it.

If you love it, why not? I don't think it matters. It would matter if it was Angelina and Brad, but Harry is a top 10 name and Megan is fairly usual too so hardly looks deliberate.

MrsG thats great info! Also i know she is Meghan but its the same name still. 🙈 ok so top 3 other than megan now are holly chloe and freya. Thanks for your hekp everyone! Glad its not a boy i was hoping to call Louis 🙊

Go for it it's a lovely name, you can always use the two names instead of just Megan.

Harry's actual name is Henry and Meghan's is Rachel so go for it and tell people that if they say something

Megan Rose is lovely - very pretty. The Harry/Meghan association will die down, so it wouldn't bother me. There must be plenty of siblings/couples called Kate/Catherine and William.

I love emily, charlotte, grace and isabelle but close friends/family have these. Of those suggested i love freya. Hadn't considered that. I had considered Annabel but wouldnt want her to get Anna.

I know of siblings named Harry and Megan.. though they are in their teens now so I don't think it applies as much.

I do think it would be a bit much, maybe use Megan as a middle name? Do you have a shortlist with other girls names you really like?

I have liked the name Megan for ages too, but I do thing you would be bringing constant irritations for them for the rest of their lives if you have a Harry and Megan now. Sorry, I agree with dh.

Rosa, or Rosie maybe, instead of Rose as first name?

I think I'd just use Megan anyway though if it were me.

My daughter is called Megan lucy Kate Rose (Rose is our surname) so I am biased but love the name!
