DH wants to name DD1 Susanna as it has important family links for him but I'm just not sure if I like it or not.

What does the mumsnet jury think?

Oh yes, I now automatically spell it out if I have to give my name.

It's very similar to my name. I spend a lot of time correcting people who call me Susan. People find it difficult to spell even when it's right there in front of them on an email.
If you use it your daughter might have better luck as people seem to cope better with the 'anna' ending than the 'anne' ending in mine.

It's lovely, but as others have said, you need to be sure you're ok with all the diminutives, and that you'd be spelling it out all.the.time.

Lovely. My preference is with an s, without an h.

She'll have to spell it out a lot, but it'd be worth it.

I don’t like it. It seems outdated to me (in the same league as Susan), and it’ll inevitably be shortened to Sue/Susie/Suze.

Anna alone is nicer.

Like a PP I like Susanna (Much better with a h) as long as Susie is avoided. I love Annie though

Lovely name. Susannah is the spelling I prefer. I don't think it's very 80s - I went to school with lots of Suzannes which is a very different name in my opinion.

Love it but spelt the traditional way with the ‘h’ at the end. It’s a beautiful, classic name.

Love it (spelled as you have done). Dislike the shortenings, but there is no rule to say a name has to be shortened.
