Boys name Rex ...?

What does everyone think of Rex for a boys name??
I absolutely LOVE it but partner says it's a dogs name...
I get that it traditionally is(was!) a dogs name but it's coming back and I think it's super cool

Yes, traditionally it's a dog name, but then it's also a traditional human name (eg Rex Harrison). It's not like you're calling him Fido or Rover...

Even people who think of it as a bit of a dog name will forget that as soon as they meet your son. You meet kids with much weirder names all the time and everyone just gets with the programme.

I think you're right that it's coming back. Works well for a cute toddler but also a cool/serious adult name.

Ticks a load of boxes as it’s simple but rare.

Oscar and Harry are dogs names but there's plenty of them around.

If you like it then go for it!!
