Three weeks to go, we are set on a boys name but no girl names as yet. I like long names, views on the above or suggestions of similar names?

Thank you!

I love Seraphina.

RedDwarves · 22/04/2018 12:55

Seraphina is my favourite. I like Ophelia too.

Not a fan of Henrietta.

TatianaLarina · 22/04/2018 12:04

I like a tragic heroine,

Me too. Don’t understand people’s pearl clutching about a good tragedy.

Cosmoa · 22/04/2018 10:46

Seraphina is my favorite. I also like Sapphira Smile

Henrietta nn Hennie

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/04/2018 10:23

Henrietta (Hetty).

RaindropsAndSparkles · 22/04/2018 10:11

Love Ophelia
DD has a bear called Seraphina

Parents have no say in their children's nn's. Have you thought about Severine?

My only issue with Ophelia is the tragic link with opiates and Rosetti (Elizabeth Siddal) but google Maddox Brown's Ophelia, it is truly stunning as a picture x

Seraphina

TatianaLarina · 22/04/2018 09:31

Seraphine/a is very pretty.

Henrietta just becomes Henri which isn’t particularly nice.

justabunchofbunting · 22/04/2018 09:24

All lovey names. I like Henrietta the least just because I dislike a Henry I know.
Ophelia is my favourite. I think its sounds lovely and wont get shortened. I like a tragic heroine, Isolde is currently top of our baby name list!
Seraphine most likely will just become Sarah.

Another vote for Henrietta

How about:
Jemima
Rosalie
Annabella
Arabella
Evangeline
Emmeline
Felicity
Clementine
Josephine
Matilda

Henrietta. It's beautiful and classical and rarely used.

lifechangesforever · 22/04/2018 09:14

I love Seraphine and Seraphina - DH eventually veto'd though. The meaning 'fiery angel' is perfect for a girl I think.

My only issue is how they would be shortened, they don't seem to have a 'natural' shortening.

All names are beautiful though. I also had Ophelia on the list.

puzzlepiece · 22/04/2018 09:11

I really like Henrietta.
I know there was a long post a while ago on the name Ophelia and it didn't get a great response. I personally don't like it and think it sounds a bit pretentious Confused

Henrietta!
All are beautiful choices.
