Please help name DS3!

Have name changed because this is obviously very outing!

DSs are called Theodore and Felix.
Please tell me what DS3’s name should be!

We have a very common surname, so nothing too popular (I know Theodore is top 50, but luckily not many around here) This is genuinely an issue - DH and his brother both had boys in their class at school with the exact same first name/last name as them!

Our surname also means that any classic/older name already ‘belongs’ to someone. E.g Thomas X is the plumber, Dave X is the neighbour, John X is at least 4 of DH’s cousins, etc. So we’d love a name that doesn’t already conjure up the image of someone else if possible.

So any ideas?
Thanks

I agree Joel is just not as strong as your other two names and doesn’t really match their style. Not keen on Barnaby either. I think Hector would be fantastic. Or failing that Henry or George. Good luck choosing!

Classic and known but not overly popular - I'm on a campaign to extol the virtues of Martin on this board. Easy to spell, known by everyone, works really well internationally. Your other children's names are a bit beyond my taste but I think Martin could fit.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 16/05/2018 00:48

Theodore Felix and Elliott.

Joel is a bit odd with your other nsnes i think.

Good luck with the baby!

Joel. If you think it's too bland what about Jonah? Good luck with the labour!

FogCutter · 15/05/2018 13:01

And I much prefer Joel to barnaby!

I think Joel if it avoids the comedic effect of names although Barnaby does go slightly better with your other dcs names imo. Both great names though and I definitely wouldn't see Joel as bland.

One vote for each - aargh! ‘Luckily’ baby is taking is time! You are right, Barnaby has a slightly comedy effect with our surname (think Bertie Bassett sort of thing) but...is Joel too bland?

Jenijena · 15/05/2018 08:53

You said previously Barnaby wasn’t great with the surname - I prefer Joel too. Good luck!

SpidersTwin · 15/05/2018 08:51

DS3 is on his way! We are down to 2 names - Barnaby or Joel. Any thoughts?

I really love Barnaby (and nearly used it previously) but worry that it will be hard to live with, perhaps especially as a teen. DH doesn’t like Barney.

Joel seems cooler and a bit easier, but I don’t love it as much.

Any thoughts??

We are in the same situation - do not like or agree on any names for our 3rd boy. I don't think he'll have a name!

SpidersTwin · 21/04/2018 08:18

Thanks for lots more suggestions. I’ve realise that DH is the problem! I also like Louis, Isaac, Otis, Rufus. DH dislikes all of the names, except Hector. Hector!
