I work in a secondary school so obviously know dozens. They're almost an equal third each Elizabeth, Lizzie and Libby.

Dd2 (11) has an Elizabeth in her class, doesn’t ever get shortened.

Dd3 (9) Elizabeth in class is only knows as Libby.

Dd1 (16) knows 3, one Elizabeth, one Lizzy and one Liza.

I used to know an Elizabeth who was always called Elizabeth. She would be about 8 now. I also came across a couple of Betty's, but I think Betty wasn't short for anything. They were just Betty.
I did think of it for my daughter (it's my Mum's name) and in my mind I always pictured a little girl called Lizzie!!
