I love Grey for a boy but not keen on Greyson, are there any other names Grey could be a shortening for?

I absolutely love the name Grey and desperately wanted to use it for DS (at least as a middle name) but DP vetoed it. 😞 Can't think of any suggestions as to what it could be short for though, sorry!

Grey is problematic because of Fifty Shades. And also because it's a neutral colour that's popular now in house decor, so it's a bit like beige, and would you call your child that? But you could use it a short form for Gregory maybe.

My uncle is called Graham and gets Gray for short, I actually quite like it x

I like Grayson with Gray for short. Not so keen on the spelling with the 'e' personally but that's just my preference. If you like it go for it, it isn't outrageously weird!

Grey is a colour, not a child’s name.

If you’re going to do that to them, at least pick a decent colour like red or blue. Grey is awful.

Graham is acceptable but a bit middle aged.
