For a girl that is, as I've occasionally heard these names used on boys.

See, I think Jade is actually a really nice name, and it's a precious stone, and has a nice sound.

But for me it just brings up connotations of year 9 girls strutting around school with too short skirts and no ties, circa 1996!

On balance I think Erin is better.

Erin

BossWitch · 11/04/2018 09:04

Erin. By a country mile!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/04/2018 09:02

What Region are you from. I've never heard of either of these names being used for boys.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/04/2018 09:00

Erin by a million miles. Jade is tacky. However I have to say this. All that Jades I've known have been lovely.

auntyflonono · 11/04/2018 08:33

TeddyIsaHe · 11/04/2018 07:48

Jade, but I’m incredibly biased as it’s my name!

Although Erin was a top contender for dd’s name.

ReversingSnail · 11/04/2018 07:47

Jade is much nicer IMO.

17caterpillars1mouse · 11/04/2018 07:46

Erin.

Jade sounds rather dates to me but then i went to school with tons of them

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 11/04/2018 07:46

Neither sorry.
Ruby?

BikeRunSki · 11/04/2018 07:44

Erin

Parentingissotough · 11/04/2018 07:43

Erin

redfairy · 11/04/2018 07:42

Jade seems a little dated now but perfectly pretty and Erin reminds me of The Waltons so I think of it as an American name.
Out of the two I'd go for Erin.

jmscp2015 · 11/04/2018 07:37

Erin! Major bias though Grin

peachypetite · 11/04/2018 07:36

Erin is a much classier name!

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 11/04/2018 07:33

Erin.

villainousbroodmare · 11/04/2018 07:20

Erin. Jade not nearly so nice imo.

user1498549192 · 11/04/2018 07:18

Erin; lovely name.

deptfordgirl · 11/04/2018 07:01

I prefer Erin.

Speedy85 · 11/04/2018 05:42

Erin.

I like Jade in theory. It's a beautiful colour and gemstone, but it's a name that's been out of favour in the UK for a while (I recall it's popularity falling massively because of the association with Jade Goody from Big Brother) so I think people will react more positively to Erin.
