Better name out of Jade or Erin.

For a girl that is, as I've occasionally heard these names used on boys.

Definitely Erin.

Jade sounds dated and I agree with a previous poster about it attaching a very clear class label, and all the baggage that would bring.

Erin is well-known enough not to confuse people, and yet unusual enough not to immediately be associated with a specific era or demographic.

Well, you'd be spelling it wrong, Hermione. It's a well established name, nobody would guess it was spelt any differently.

Erin by so much! It's a lovely name.

Jade sounds pretty too but to me comes with class baggage. I have a stereotypically 'working class' name and while it hasn't defined by life, I really tried to avoid this with my DC, it's a pain.

Jade is much more feminine sounding. Erin sounds masculine imo. But I agree that Jade is a little dated sounding. So I'd choose neither Smile

Jade is very 90's but I suspect those names will be back in fashion in a few years if you want to be a trendsetter!

Erin is lovely but very popular at the moment

I love the name Erin but dh wasn't keen to use it because in Ireland it's a brand of soup (taking Maggi off the list too).

I prefer Jade. Erin reminds me of neighbours (Erinsborough). Also makes me think of Derry Girls.

What Region are you from. I've never heard of either of these names being used for boys.

Emma Buntons partner (who was also in the boy band Damage) is called Jade isn't he? He is the only male Jade I have heard of though. Not heard of Erin for a boy!
