Zeb, or is there a nicer boy's name starting with Z?

Just Zeb, not short for Zebedee, or is it too unusual? Or are there any other boys names starting with Z that you like?

Sorry, only just seen your reply. We had a girl, so no Zeb in the end! Has yours arrived yet, and if so, did you go for Zeb? I still like it!

Zinzan. Two accounts about origin — one is that it was a Saxon name recorded in Berkshire after the Conquest, the other is that it was the name of Italianwho travelled to England in the 16thC and anglicised his name to Zinzan.
Well known in NZ, of course.
Nice strong name with plenty of scope for nn.

Zeb is just dreadful on its own. What's wrong with zebedee? What about zachariah, Zachary, zechariah, Ezekiel

I don't like Zak/Zack/Zach/Zachary at all.

Well @DullandOld we call our son Zed because he likes that to be the shortening of his name. He doesn’t like Zac.
I’m sure there are plenty of other horrible characters in movies that share their name with cute kids these days.
@op -I think Zeb is nice too

I don't think babble is accurate about 'Zander' and spelt like that, it's a fish.

The origin of Xander is Persian, and I think it's a lovely name in that spelling, but wouidn't fulfil the requirement to start with a 'z'

Some suggestions:

Zephaniah, Zacchaeus, Zachariah/Zakariya, Zack, Zadoc, Zedekiah, Zeno, Zorba
