Sibling for Merryn

Hello Smile

I’ve namechanged as DD’s name (Merryn) is not very common where I live & i’m currently 7 months pregnant so probably a bit identifiable to anyone that knows me!

We don’t know if we’re having a boy or girl.

Favourite girls names are:
Imogen
Phoebe
Romilly
Cassia

Boys names - am totally stuck. The only one I like at the moment is Flynn. Not sure if it ‘goes’ with Merryn though?

We love the name Merryn and I’ve yet to think of a name that I feel the same about.

What are your opinions on the above choices/other suggestions?

If you like names with meanings how about
Asher which means happy (fortunate, blessed)
Asa means life begins at dawn

To me Merryn is a saint's name.

So maybe Petroc or Piran!

I wouldn't put Megan with Merryn.

As Merryn is also a surname I'd go for another surname type name.

Farrah was on my list for dd and I believe that also means joyful. I think it also fits quite well with Merryn.

I really like Leo too, or Leon if you want something a bit less popular? I know of a Merryn who has brothers called Rowan and Ezra

I love Romilly.

I knew a Merryn with a brother Murray. I think Rowan would go nicely for a boy.

If you like other happy or joyful meaning names, what about:

Felicity, Allegra, Gwyneth, Beatrice

Felix, Isaac, Asher, Tate

Might not be to your taste.

Am not keen on Raphael but quite like Raff. What do people think of Rafferty? Though I think Jude Law might have a son called that and I’m not keen on Jude Law Grin

Crazydog I quite like the name Micah but I friend has a DS called that. Though she spells it differently.

Knitting this would be great if you wouldn’t mind pm’ing me your DD’s name. I think it would be quite nice to have two names that both mean ‘joyful’ so one doesn’t feel left out Grin

What do people like of the name Leo? It was on my list when I was pregnant with DD and it’s the only name that I still vaguely like from that list but not sure if it’s a bit blah.

I also had Marnie on the list before for a girl which has grown on me again. Girls choices are now, in no particular order (and likely to change againGrin)

I love the name Merryn! It's on my list for this baby. And like you, I can't think of any boys names I like. I have a son called Dexter and a daughter with a really unusual name which I think goes well with Merryn. Just need to convince other half... Fern and Astrid are also on the list. Can PM with my daughter's name if you want (it also means joyful) but is definitely outing!

A boys name that goes well with Merryn is Micah (pronounced myka) that is a lovely name and I know a very nice little boy with that name it always helps if they are nice to help you like a name!

I just don’t think there is a boys name on this planet that I love. Thanks for the suggestions but I don’t like any of them and I can’t even explain why. Hormones? Blush
