I think I like it but my 9 month pregnant hormones are clouding my judgement. I wanted something not super common but not to out there - is this it?

I know a 5 year old girl called Evan. I was surprised at first ( calling the register and expecting a boy) but now I really like it on her

Flamingdinosaur · 04/04/2018 19:23

We considered Evan but ended up having a girl instead. I love the name!

DramaAlpaca · 04/04/2018 18:12

Love it.

Has someone been watching Keeping Faith?
Great name - manly, traditional and unmessaboutable.

Dreamtheimpossibledream · 04/04/2018 14:01

Thanks everyone! Very reassuring x

Definitely not baby brain. I think it’s a great name

To me, it’s a mixture of strong and gentle and works for a little boy an adult, a rock star or an accountant. Not difficult to say or spell either.

The only negative I have heard (on MN ages ago I think) is that it sounds a bit surname-y. Like Evans with a bit missing. Not a biggie though.

It’s close to the top of my list but sadly DP is not so keen.

RapunzelIsHere · 03/04/2018 16:25

I love it OP! Adding this to my list right now.

nivky · 03/04/2018 16:18

My nephew is Evan and so I am completely biased but it’s a gorgeous name for a handsome little boy. Would totally have taken it if it wasn’t already in the family.

Trooperslane2 · 03/04/2018 14:14

Evan Dando

How much cooler can you get?

Do it!

SandysMam · 03/04/2018 14:14

I’m not keen, reminds me of the clothes shop!

Vintagegirl77 · 03/04/2018 14:09

It's lovely. We couldn't use it so went for Ewan instead which is sort of similar.

MammieBear · 03/04/2018 12:51

Sweet name

Highhorse1981 · 03/04/2018 12:51

Very very dull

BitOutOfPractice · 03/04/2018 12:50

I love it!

squoosh · 03/04/2018 12:50

Makes me think of 90s era Evan Dando. And that is a nice thought.

Extremely popular here in Wales. I've taught loads.

Ginandplatonic · 03/04/2018 12:49

Love it! Was on my list but vetoed by DH.

MatchsticksForMyEyesReturns · 03/04/2018 12:48

DS is Evan. He's the only one in his school. I love it, obviously. I overruled ex H's choice to name him that.

timeistight · 03/04/2018 12:46

Another thumbs up from me.

stellinaa · 03/04/2018 12:44

Love the name Evan!

zeebeedee · 03/04/2018 12:15

Evan and Owen were on my list for all 3 of my DSs.

(DH vetoed as being too long every time - He had a thing about one syllable names, so now all three of our boys have 1 syllable names!!!)

It's lovely

pepperpop · 02/04/2018 20:43

I know a little 10 week old Evan, I think it's a lovely name. Not super common but not too crazy!

mamalovebird · 02/04/2018 20:42

I know 2. Great name.

Sophronia · 02/04/2018 20:41

I like it!

BrutusMcDogface · 02/04/2018 20:40

It's on our list, too Smile
