Girls names suggestions

Hi I've recently given birth to my second daughter and we're struggling with name inspiration.
Our first is Emmeline, I love the names Florence and Alice but both are very popular in our area. He loves Isabella or "something like Imogen"

We'd love something classic that flows with Emmeline but my partner is vetoing anything beginning with an 'E' (Elizabeth being the primary suggestion - because we're not the Kardashians so "don't need the children to share the same initials" Hmm )

So any suggestions of lovely, classic names, that aren't hugely popular, begin with anything but E? Can you help a tired and somewhat defeated mum out? Go!

If you're not sure about Lara, maybe Larissa?

newvloggerperhaps · 05/04/2018 16:56

What about full name Elizabeth but using the nickname Beth? or Mathilda (My fav Grin) Martha, Jemima

stellinaa · 03/04/2018 12:54

Emmeline & Saskia could also be nicknamed as Emmie and Sassy, so cute!

stellinaa · 03/04/2018 12:53

Josie & Emmeline
Billie & Emmeline
Dawn & Emmeline
Emmeline & Saskia

If you think she's a Florence, then go with that name. I also like Livia and Margot from your list.

However, if you're still looking inspiration, how about:
Frances
Felicity
Beatrice
Lorna
Constance
Violet
Louisa
Josephine

Sophronia · 02/04/2018 20:43

Vivienne
Genevieve

Florence is a lovely inspiring name like Emmeline I don't think you can go wrong with it if popularity puts you off you could shorten to Flora...

AnyaMoondial · 02/04/2018 19:21

Iris
Matilda
Beatrice
Kitty
Fern
Anna
Audrey

SE13Mummy · 02/04/2018 19:09

Audrey
Clementine
Constance
Dorothy/Dorothea
Madeleine
Penelope
Sylvia/Sylvie

I think Imogen is a lovely name and although well-known, isn't overused. Harriet works too - I don't think it matters that you already know one as there's nothing to say you'll know that one forever.

bridgetreilly · 02/04/2018 19:09

Tbh, I like Isabella and Imogen, so I'm with DH. But other ideas might be:
Rosalind
Annabel
Christabel
Clementine
Clemency
Sylvie
Madeleine
Juliet

I do like Livia, but suspect she'll spend her whole life correcting people who assume it's Olivia. Margot is lovely. I'm not a fan of Cosima.

Chocolatecake12 · 02/04/2018 19:06

Florence is beautiful.
Alternatives that go with Emmeline

Felicity

Adelaide is lovely. We have a Margot and have so many compliments on her name... and have never known another.

We love Emmeline for our next dc (if she's a dd) how do you get on with people mispronouncing? Calling her Emily etc? Sorry to jump on board!

Some more great suggestions, thanks!
I've also got:
Livia
Lana
Lara (not sure about this though)
Margot
Ines
And I quite like Cosima but I'm scared it's too out there!

Why is this so bloody difficult?! As I watch her further crack my broken nipples clusterfeed for the umpteenth hour I can't help but think she looks like a Florence but my partner is really lukewarm about it as well as it being incredibly popular (the midwife said she'd had three over the last week or so!)

I've got Lydia, Cecily/Cecelia, Alexandra and Isadora on my list, they've been vetoed but I love some of you are on the same wavelength as me. Unfortunately we know a Clara, Cora, Georgina and Harriet so they're out.
I'm just pleased we have 42 days to register her as this is going to take some thinking about!
Thanks all there are some beautiful suggestions here.

Elodie, Eugenie and Estelle begin with an ‘E’. Wouldn’t class most of the names you suggested as classic awwlookat. Harriet is quite popular I suppose, maybe Henrietta is a better suggestion Hmm
