We are going round in circles! Which do you prefer please?

I was at school with a Verity. She used to get called Ferret. I think it's a nice name but that might be worth considering.

scrivette · 01/04/2018 22:44

Verity

DontbeaDickaboutit · 01/04/2018 22:34

Verity, means The Truth.

I have a very close friend called Verity, we call her V xxx

theanonymum1 · 01/04/2018 22:32

I didn’t like Juliet... but then Juliet Elizabeth is so pretty! I don’t like Julie/Jules as shortened versions though

Habanero · 01/04/2018 22:32

Both those names rock! You have good taste in baby names Smile

Oly5 · 01/04/2018 22:30

Love Juliet, hate Verity. I know a Juliet and she’s never called Julie!

TheLegendOfBeans · 01/04/2018 22:25

Oh wow, these were on our final list for DD, I love them both!

unhelpful

Onceuponatimethen · 01/04/2018 22:25

Verity wins for me!

I prefer Julia to Juliet but do like Juliet.

AdaColeman · 01/04/2018 22:24

Both very lovely, but Verity Elizabeth wins for me.

GummyGoddess · 01/04/2018 22:23

Juliette

DarkRoomDarren · 01/04/2018 22:22

I like both, but Juliet edges it for me. Ds would have been Juliet if he’d been a girl!

Both are lovely though. Maybe wait till she’s born and see if one suits her more than the other?

I love Juliet. I always think Verity is quite a harsh sounding name.

daisypond · 01/04/2018 21:39

I like them both. Juliet is a classic Shakespearean name, but it is a diminutive, which I'm not so keen on, and I always prefer Julia as having more substance and weight to it. I don't think people would mix up Juliet and Julie these days - as Julie is very much a name from the '60s, though I believe it's more popular in France (as it's a French name). Verity is also very nice. I don't think I've ever met a Verity.

Raines100 · 01/04/2018 21:39

Love Juliet. Hate Verity.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 01/04/2018 21:15

Don't particularly like Verity but I much prefer it to Juliet. However it's very much adored on here.
I don't think I've ever negative comment on it.
Ive never got the hype, though.

iamloading · 01/04/2018 21:08

Haha really split then! If it helps her middle name will be Elizabeth (non negotiable as a middle name for sentimental reasons)!

Juliet. I know three and they are all always ‘Juliet(te)’, never Jules or Julie

One is in their fifties, one thirties and one 5yo, and totally different characters but it suits them all really well and I always think what a lovely name Smile

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 01/04/2018 21:06

Juliet. I know two awful Veritys though.

unintentionalthreadkiller · 01/04/2018 21:04

Verity. I wanted but husband vetoed it.

Sophronia · 01/04/2018 21:04

Juliet. Verity always makes me think of ferrets.

slowco4ch · 01/04/2018 21:02

Verity! I have known 2 lovely Veritys in my life. Never met a Juliet/Juliette/Julia/Julie/Giulia that I liked. Having said that cheating husbands, ignorant friends cloud your judgement!

BigPinkBall · 01/04/2018 21:00

If you choose Juliet people will misspell it and call her Julie whereas Verity is harder to get wrong. That may not be important to you but it would annoy me.

noitsachicken · 01/04/2018 20:59

Had both on our list.
I would choose Verity as didn’t like Julie or Jules or anything Juliet might get shortened to.

Enidblyton1 · 01/04/2018 20:58

Both lovely, but Juliet would be my choice.
Only because I think Verity sounds a bit more serious and worthy.

Mol1628 · 01/04/2018 20:56

Verity.
