Would love some opinions....Which is everyone’s favourite on the short list.

Dorothy - nn Dora or Dottie
Meredith - nn Meri or Edie
Ottilie - Ottie
Florence
Iris

Nancy
Orla

Thanks everyone for the opinions! Seems a mixed bag, I’m loving Meredith, Dottie, Iris and Nacy the most. Ottilie seems to be a bit of a marmite name which I kind of expected. Just need to get DH to warm to Iris as I love it but he sadly doesn’t!

Dorothy - I really like Dorothy nn Dot or Dotty
Meredith - love Meredith, prefer without a nn. Not a fan of Meri but like Edie
Ottilie - Ottie - like Ottilie not so sure on Ottie. Prefer Ottoline
Florence - love but it's so popular here
Iris - i really like Iris. It keeps growing on md
Nancy - really dislike it.
Orla - pretty sound but inagibe prone to autocorrect mistakes

Florence is pretty, reminds me of Florence and the Machine. Orla is okay (Again, Isla is nicer). Dorothy, Meredith, Iris and Nancy sound very frumpy to me. And I imagine a little girl called Ottilie being teased terribly and nicknamed otter.

Ottie or Edie or Iris by a country mile.

Dorothy and Florence - I really dislike these - there is just nothing remotely pretty or feminine (nothing wrong with that however) or strong or unusual about these Hilda, Gertrude type names.

Orla isn’t to my taste but I think Isla, although very popular, is nicer.

Nancy - this is okay too and could be quite ‘fun’.

I love your list apart from Ottilie which I can't seem to warm to. I have a Nancy so that's obviously my favourite but I genuinely love all other names on your list.

Dorothy and Ottilie are ok - Meredith- I really like. I know one and to be very honest the first time I heard it, I wasn't a fan but it's a real grower Grin. She gets Mere occasionally.
Florence, Nancy and Iris are a bit meh. The three of them sort of run into the same name for me.
Orla - I find very dated, it was popular when I was in primary school, it's a bit like Joanne, Nichola - very of its time.

Also, another nn you can use with Dorothy is Dodie. Dodie Smith was the author of 101 Dalmatians Smile

Orla is the best by a mile. I also like Meredith or Nancy (at a push).

I think Ottilie reminds me of otters or utterly, Florence is meh, Iris is too granny chic and Dorothy is a bit too fluffy and sweet sounding to me.
