Hamish or Gilbert?

Which name do you all prefer as a first name, Gilbert or Hamish? Pls settle debate between me and DH, thnx!

My friend has a Gilbert (Gil). Suits him perfectly and I think that Gil is quite a classy name for an adult.

As a Scot I would find a non-Scottish Hamish odd and a Scottish one a bit of a cliché.

I kind of love Gilbert due to Anne if Green Gables.
