Would people make this connection?

Or surname is the same as a famous actor. Well known enough that people have often make that connection and even asked if we are related, its not an english surname so not very common here.
The first name we are considering if we have a boy is the first name of the charcter this actor is most well known for playing.

So imagine Jennifer Anniston playing Rachel from friends and then we wanted to name our dd Rachel Anniston, though the actor and the show isnt quite as big.

Would people make that connection and would that put you off the name?

John Stamos played Tony Gates in ER - more likely known for this in the UK than for being in Full House

I know the name of the show but never watched it. Never heard of the actor or his character. I'm early 30s.

V unlikely anyone would make that link. I'd use the name - Full House isn't well known in the UK at all.

I think it entirely depends on the name and character he played. Fwiw I didn't use a first name I liked as it is extremely similar to a famous actress when combined with dp's surname.

My mother and I still chuckle whenever James Hook plays for Wales and we say "Captain". We don't know him personally so no idea if he gets ribbed about it IRL or if he cares

I wouldn't match up with a recognisable first and last name combination for a celebrity personally especially with an unusual surname personally but I also refused alliteration for my children's names because I think it's a bit too "pay attention to how witty I am" so I may be too judgemental on names.

Ds has a name that is a surname of a pop star. No issue to me if it's mentioned. Go for the name you love.

I think they could do,it depends how prominent the person is,your dc may get really fed up being teased or asked about it or even people wrongly assuming the name was chosen purposely to link her with said person.also depends on what the character gets up to on screenSmile?

Its an american 80's/90's show that they did a netflix sequal for a few years ago which I dont think was hugely popular actually.
I dont really know how big it is across the UK as we are probably are more aware of it because of our surname and I'm not sure it will be that relevent in few decades time.
Its more similar to friends than it is to doctor fostor definately though.

I would imagine so, yes. If the actor is very famous. Does it really matter if you love the name?
