Would people make this connection?

Or surname is the same as a famous actor. Well known enough that people have often make that connection and even asked if we are related, its not an english surname so not very common here.
The first name we are considering if we have a boy is the first name of the charcter this actor is most well known for playing.

So imagine Jennifer Anniston playing Rachel from friends and then we wanted to name our dd Rachel Anniston, though the actor and the show isnt quite as big.

Would people make that connection and would that put you off the name?

Another one who has never heard of the actor, the character or the show. I think you're safe enough. I looked him up and the show you are mentioning ended in 1995 - a shocking 23 years ago (how did 1994 become so long ago!) - and he has been in several other high profile things since. Normally on this board in the one saying "don't do it" but here I really think you're ok.

Having said all that, I'm not personally a huge fan of the names together but obviously that's none of my business.

I was thinking Sherlock Cumberbatch. It must be the go to distinctive name!

I'm usually refer to him as Cucumberpatch.

I watched ER and full house (due to us living in Boston in 80s but don't remember his character's name or the actor's name)

I liked the Full House but would not make the connection if we met your son now or in future

If you had called him Sherlock Cumberbatch then we really would notice and make connection GrinGrinGrinGrin

I immediately knew who John Stamos was and enjoyed Full House and him as Jesse back in the day (oh so innocent everyone was then!) but I wouldn't actually have connected a randomly met Jesse Stamos to the show and actor unless circumstances conspired unexpectedly to remind me. And even then I would assume it was my connection only, and this Jesse's parents would have no idea why I am making such a long-winded connection. I think you're pretty safe!

I think I heard of the show a long time ago but couldn't name any characters or actors. That name will be fine.

Same here. I googled it and he was one of those boring characters from the final couple of seasons which I mostly removed from my memory.

Hardly anyone would make that connection. I was a big ER fan and don’t even recognise either him nor his characters name.
Definitely go for it.

I did think it was possible that we were much more aware of the actor and the show because of of DH's surname and a few people making the link and that they both were not actually that well know across the Uk as a whole.

Full House was, as far as I know, never shown in the UK at the time of making. My DD and nieces have seen it because of Netflix but I doubt they’d be able to actually name the cast members.
