Sister for Aurora?

What would you name Aurora's sister?

Our current favourites are Violet and Penelope... Which do you think would work best out of these, if any?

Thanks!

@JadeT2 I love Thea! We really like Theodora with the nickname Thea but Rora and Dora lol. Theodore is our top boy name too.

Ooh, I like Thea. My daughter has a friend called Theadora who goes by Thea but it does have the advantage that it can also be used as Dora( ignoring any Explorers )

JadeT2 · 24/03/2018 10:51

We have a Thea to go with ours as they both have sky meanings.

I think Violet sounds ok with Aurora, really like Penelope Violet 👍🏼

jess91 · 24/03/2018 09:16

@TatianaLarina Alliterarion is probably something I'd avoid altogether, thinking about it. It would get quite confusing with the post lol.

@TatianaLarina That's a plus to me, I don't see a need for names to belong in a theme. My only issue is if they are stylistically jarring together. Violet is actually the name I was most worried about because it's a nature name along with Aurora.

@Threeandabit Why does Donatella remind me of Donald Trump. Name ruined! Lol. Thank you for the lovely suggestions.

TatianaLarina · 24/03/2018 09:09

There’s no theme or pattern to them. They’re neither both Latin or both mythological or flower names, nor are they alliterative. They’re just randomly thrown together.

But they’re your kids I don’t care what you do! Grin

Threeandabit · 23/03/2018 20:33

I like Violet and Penelope.

Other suggestions: -

Mehreen - Means "Beautiful / Moon"
Donatella - Means "Beautiful Gift"
Petronella
Mitzi

Isadora
Julienne
Camilla / Camille
Deborah

Sarah
Zoe
Jade
Veronica

Maxine
Verity
Saskia
Imelda

AbsolutelyCorking · 23/03/2018 18:29

No they don’t sound odd as siblings at all. I like Violet.

jess91 · 23/03/2018 18:26

Does everyone agree that Aurora and Violet sound odd as siblings? We have a few Violet combinations we like as well as Penelope Violet.

OP posts:
jess91 · 23/03/2018 10:06

@TatianaLarina Random? How so? I think they fit well together.

OP posts:
TatianaLarina · 23/03/2018 09:57

I think the repeated Rs in Aurora and Rosa are a bit of a mouthful.

I like Viola - hadn’t thought of that.

While I like the names individually - Aurora and Violet are a bit random together.

PetalMettle · 22/03/2018 21:24

I’d like something starry - Astrid, Stella or Seren.
Penelope is lovely though

Cmagic7 · 22/03/2018 21:23

Weird - I was going to say Penelope before I read that was one of your options.

sarararararah · 22/03/2018 21:19

Verity

Pixie2015 · 22/03/2018 21:18

Seren x

jess91 · 22/03/2018 21:13

I think we'd need to be careful if using another name ending in A. Rora and Rosa would be a bit too much for me, for example. The rhyming RA and LA in Aurora and Viola, too.

There are a lot of suggestions that we like here so thank you!

OP posts:
TatianaLarina · 22/03/2018 18:54

I agree Phoebe goes very well.

Otherwise I think I’d choose another ending in A.

Giuliana, Tatiana, Cassandra, Francesca, Gabriella, Rosa, Paloma
