Sebastian or Jasper?

Just that really.

I’m having trouble choosing between these two names after a lot of discussion to get here.
I really liked Gabriel, but was vetoed.

I know a delightful little boy called Jasper who is quirky and clever but not at all wet.
That said, I slightly prefer Sebastian as it has more options - Seb is a cool shortened version.

Definitely not for me - to me, wet means mild, shy, anxious, wouldn't say boo to a goose.

I'm laughing at the person saying people who think it's wet think Logan etc are manly.

Both names are great but I think I slightly prefer Sebastian because it has more variety of names to choose from. He could go by the more formal Sebastian or Seb, Bastian, Ian, etc.

I really don't think you can go wrong choosing out of these two names. I'm not sure how they, or any name, could be considered wet or even how you can assume what a child's personality would be from their name. You could always nickname him Butch to really drive the manly, strong quality into him, of course Hmm

Jasper is a gorgeous name! So is Sebastian Smile tough choice!

I think Jasper is less popular so I would go for that based on this reason alone.

Sebastian seems the front runner so far, I appreciate it's more popular than Sebastian, although I only know one Sebastian.

Both are great names - Sebastian is one of my favourite so I’m biased. So is Gabriel.

Neither are wet - quite absurd.

This is from women who seem to think Mason, Logan and Kai sound manly.

Depends if you want him to be the only one in his school with a name and whether you mind it being shortened.

Out of the two I'd personally pick Jasper. Not a fan of Twilight, I associate it with Jasper Tudor.

Jasper is lovely. Jasper Tudor is one of my favourite historical figures. Not a wet name at all.

Thanks all, I don’t mind if people don’t like the names, I find most boys names leave me a bit cold in one way or another. It’s beem hard to find two I liked enough to consider.

The problem with Sebastian is it's nicknames - Seb, Sebby or Basty..!? They sound so weak and unmanly.

So I'd choose Jasper! But not shorten that one either.

Jasper reminds me of "japs eye" Grin and also casper the friendly ghost
In the first episode of Tom and Jerry, Tom was also called Jasper.

I like it spelt as Sebastién.
Surely it would be Sébastien?
