How do you spell this baby name

I heard someone on TV say their name and I thought it was a lovely name for any future daughters Wink but I can't for the life of me figure out how it is spelled

Phonetically it is pronounced PA Treece sa...like Patrice with an "ah" on the end...

But if it's spelled that way Patrica looks too much like the name Patricia

I think the Patryca version of the spelling works the best as it's a visual reminder to ask how to pronounce it or once you've been told remember how to pronounce it!

You said you like the name Alicia (but not pronounced "Aleesha") so how about Alysia? It has a similar sound to Patrica.

Yes, they're both followed by an e. -ce- says "s".

MrsHathaway what about the actress Lacey turner (Stacey Slater) ...Stacey and Lacey both have C that sound like S (Stay-see, lay-see...)

I've known a Patricia pronounced Patritzia.

I'd spell it Patrissa but have never heard of this. It's quite nice but it does sound a lot like Patricia.

Graca Mandela is pronounced Gray-sa. It does look like Gracka though.

Trouble is that the letter c can only say "s" in English when it's followed by e or i. So an English speaker seeing "Patrica" will either misread as Patricia or say "patrick-ah" - neither of which is what you're after.

A name that is difficult to spell will mean a lifetime of having to spell out your name for others and having your name misspelt.

CisPinkHoodie regardless of what name you call a child they will have to learn to spell it, they won't be born magically knowing how to spell their name Grin

If you don't know how to spell it, think of the child. I speak as someone whose name is uncommon and hard for people to spell

I'll add a 4th. Alicia pronounced as Alisha. Just like Patricia is Patrisha.
I always though it was a lovely name but when a colleague had a daughter and said her name was Al-issy-a, I said, I'd never heard it before and colleague looked at me like I was mad and said A-L-I-C-I-A.
My SIL's SIL is Alicia pronounced Aleesha.

Well if you just want that sound then I would go with the spelling Patrissa because that looks like how it’s pronounced, but it’s not currently really recognised as a name if you know what I mean (eg there weren’t any babies born with that name in the UK last year).

Patryca isn't a name, its a type of machine tool in Polish!

The only thing that would make the sound you want, in English anyway, is Patrisa. Which is a province in Budapest.

I tried an alternative spelling name generator online where you type in your name and it gives alternative spellings of the name,

I tried "Patrica" and it came up with Patryca

My grandma used to always pronounce her nieces name as Patresha , her name was Patricia.

The only “pa tree sha” I ever met was spelled Patricia. She also had a very ordinary middle name that was pronounced differently as well!

It just seems pretentious to me, like Hyacinth Bucket/Bouquet.
