Beatrix Tallulah or Claudia Beatrix?

Claw dia is the usual English pronunciation, Cloud ia is the German pronunciation. I like it, OP, and Beatrice. Beatrix reminds me of the joke, beer tricks, but it's also nice. Sorry, dislike Tallulah.

Saying that I don’t think Claudia is anywhere near pretentious - it’s lovely

I take it back about Claudia. I had a friend I didn't like with that name when I was growing up, so I'm biased, but it is a 'normal' name.

Maybe I'm happy for it to have an edge of pretentious wanker? In honesty I find Claudia a very normal name (aware of the meaning but not worried by it, obviously I'd prefer it so mean 'sun beams and rainbows' but it's not a deal breaker), Tallulah is a family name (shock horror) and I just like Beatrix (and also Beatrice) - I think of it as inoffensive but not too boring. Personally I'm not a fan of frequently used one syllable middle names, but each to their own.

We'd opt for the claw-dia pronunciation.

Beatrix Tallulah (Trixie Lu) is blooming gorgeous.

I know 2 18 month old Claudia’s (one pronounced ‘cloud-ia’ and the other ‘claw-dia’ Both lovely little girls so I would opt for that. I think it’s likely coincidence that I know 2 as I’ve never known any others and don’t think it’s particularly popular?

I prefer Beatrice - feels much more classic and classy to the rix ending.

I’m not sure if any follow particularly well together - although how often do you say your child’s middle name?!

Claudia Tullulah would be best IMO

If you want an unusual & different first name, then pair it with a plainer middle name

Claudia is very bogstandard name, Beatrice/Beatrix not fashionable but well known. The idea that you can’t put them together is bizarre, frankly.

Your post comes across as a pisstake.

Oh tough one. I really like Beatrix and Claudia, but not Talulah. So I’d vote for Claudia Beatrix.

Shame you cant have Tallulah. I know a Tallulah and she's lovely and fabulous.

I much prefer Beatrix. Beatrix has the same free-spirited, fun living give as Tallulah whilst Claudia seems stuffy and uptight in comparison

I don’t like Claudia and I like Tallulah but I think Beatrice Claudia works better.

Lots of names have less than lovely meanings but it doesn’t seem to be an issue. Isn’t Amelia a type of birth defect?

Beatrix and Claudia are both traditional classic names, and I don't think you can go wrong with either, although I do prefer Beatrice to Beatrix. The Claudia/lame thing wouldn't put me off it, as it's not obviously in the name. However, I do rather like Tallulah as well. It's a different sort of name altogether. So I'd go for Beatrix Tallulah.

Definitely Beatrix Tallulah (although I prefer Tallulah Beatrix!). I am always put off by the meaning of Claudia. I have written four baby name books and it isn't an urban myth. The mainstream, accepted meaning is 'lame' although some etymologists argue that it could be related to the word 'enclosure' but, if they were looking into it, then lame would come up first and as the main meaning if that makes sense.

In comparison, Beatrix means 'she who brings happiness' which is lovely. I also think the shortenings of 'Bea', 'Trix' or 'Trixie' are nicer than 'Clau' or 'Claud'.

I know of a man who had a sex change and became Beatrix so it’s kind of put me off that name by association.

Kind of a weird reason to be put off a name! And in this day and age... It's not a reason I would share with other people. If this person was horrible in any way than yes.. I get it. But otherwise I would keep that to yourself.
