How popular is Alice? Do you know of any babies called Alice?

I’ve only known a few adults named Alice but have found them all very smug. Totally put me off.

troodiedoo · 17/03/2018 10:08

Exactly @BikeRunSki it's a lovely song. Nobody should be bothered by a racist twat shouting over the top of it.

insancerre · 17/03/2018 09:41

My dd is named Alice after the sisters of Mercy song and her great grandma

BikeRunSki · 17/03/2018 09:26

There’s also “Living Next Door to Alice”.

To be honest, i’ve been an Alice for over 40 years. None of these songs have really ever troubled me much! Despite having the same surname as a famous singing Alice. Alice the Camel is quite amusing to my Cub pack though.

LovelyBranches · 16/03/2018 23:36

We used it as a middle name because although I love it, I couldn’t get away from Alice the camel and who the fuck is Alice?

NewIdeasToday · 16/03/2018 21:48

Do you know the song? Because once you’ve heard it you can’t unhear it.

Alice, Alice, who the f* is Alice

mrsm43s · 16/03/2018 21:43

I think it's a nice solid traditional name, but it's very popular in my area now, and perhaps a little bland. A very safe choice, kind of like Emma or Sarah were in the 80s - hard to dislike, but equally hard to get excited about.

troodiedoo · 16/03/2018 20:31

My friends dh sang it to me, soon shut him up with a chorus of Gordon is a moron though Grin

ohlittlepea · 16/03/2018 19:19

I loved this name but when my father in law sang who the f is Alice to me a few times I decided not to go with it!

battenbergbutterfly · 16/03/2018 19:17

Beautiful name

Theclockstruck2 · 16/03/2018 19:08

I didn’t know any till I used it Hmm mine is 2 and I know a few 2 other 2 years olds called it...

piglet81 · 15/03/2018 22:26

I love Alice and it would definitely be on my hypothetical list Smile

Blushingm · 15/03/2018 22:11

I'm a grown up called Alice. When I was growing up it was very unusual but I know about of teens and an 9 year old Alice - and a Nigerian lady older than me

Dauphinois · 15/03/2018 20:45

It's gorgeous.

I know one 3 year old in the UK and a 2 year old in the US.

I work in a School and it's certainly not overused round here.

Discobabe98 · 15/03/2018 20:41

I know 9 Alice’s and an AlysGrin All of them are teenagers/ early twenties except the Alys who is 6. It’s also my middle name and I really like it. But seem to be a good few around here!

aliceinwonderlandbrum · 15/03/2018 20:33

My name! Always liked it!

SuperBeagle · 15/03/2018 20:25

I love Alice.

I went to school with one, so she'd be in her 30s now. Aside from that, I only know a couple in their early/mid 20s.

insancerre · 15/03/2018 19:13

I have one who is an adult
I work with children and ive only ever come across one in20 plus years

LastNightsMakeUp · 15/03/2018 19:09

I know one 2 year old Alice and 2 Alice’s in their late 30’s

mimibunz · 15/03/2018 18:36

My gran’s name (now deceased), born in 1915.

JumpingFrogs · 15/03/2018 18:35

My Alice is 15. We've met a few over the years but there was only one year where she had another Alice in her class. I think it's pretty but not too flowery. My Alice is happy with it !

Nemophilist · 15/03/2018 18:01

Love Alice only know 1 and she's 15.

Tfoot75 · 15/03/2018 17:53

I have one, she’s 2. Know of a few others of a similar age but don’t know them directly. Royal baby names are pretty predictable as they’re traditionalists - George and Charlotte were the shortest odds and those were the ones they went with, so expect the odds on names (Alice and Mary) will be chosen this time as well!

thismeansnothing · 15/03/2018 17:53

My 6year old niece is an Alice
There's one in dds school in juniors
My friend has an Alice who's 6 month

MollyHuaCha · 15/03/2018 17:50

Nice name.
